Product works nice for me. Now I can plug in my keyboard and mouse in the front of my desk, while keeping the PC far away on the other end of the desk. And I didn't have to drill into the desk or rely on crappy adhesive and it's not in the way of my chair and doesn't take up any extra space on the desk. Even with a 10 foot (and I tested a 15 foot cable as well) usb3.0 extension cable, the unit works well. I tested a usb 3.0 flash drive and usb3.0 SSD and both worked at the same speeds (with the included cable and using a 15/10 foot extension cable) compared to plugging them directly into the USB3.0 ports on the PC. But in regards to using extension cables, one usb port on the front of my PC had slowed speeds for some reason (while when using the included cable, speeds were normal), but those ports have added cabling that goes to the motherboard, so maybe that caused an issue (I'm not sure, just speculating) or something is different/wrong with that port. What didn't work was trying to use a MyPassport HDD. Those drives apparently use all the amperage supplied by a USB3.0 port and since this hub doesn't supply its own power, I believe it divides the 1 amp that the main port gets and divides them to 250mA for each port (because I tried just plugging in the HDD to see if it would get the full amperage and it didn't). So if you are using an HDD with USB3.0 that isn't powered separately, it won't work or will transfers files very slowly (in my case). But SSDs/flash-drives use very little power and will have no problem with this. Also because that 1 amp is probably divided, using these for charging is not a good idea. Best to get a USB power adapter with QC and charge with that. 1 star off for not supplying full power to each USB 3.0 port.

I purchase several things on Amazon and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description, I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Sellers have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR

I picked up this hub because I was trying to declutter my desk in the office. Only keep the bare essentials on the desk itself and move everything off that was not needed. This lead me to move my laptop docking station under the desk, so I needed a way to plug in flash drives and other various USB devices working as an IT professional. This virtually disappears on the side of my desk and you would barely notice it was there if you were not looking for it. The hub only sticks out about a quarter of an inch from the side of the desk. making it very discrete. It works for MacOS and Windows with no drivers from what I can tell for either.

It sits perfectly clamped to a side of my desk at the back within reach but not in the way. I think we all probably have needs for different charging cord ends because of numerous styles for brands of devices. I just plugged in the 4 of my most used chargers and left them there, easy to attach for a charge. There's nothing for my cats to knock off my desk because the clip is tightened to suit my desk top. The cats may play with the cords, although they are pretty short and most of the time the cats lose interest. It did come with 4 short cords which was very nice but not all the cord end styles fit the numerous devices I think we all own. I'd buy it again if my bedside table had a lip to attach it to.
