    • Easy to Extend a USB Bus
I needed access to a printer and separate scanner that were across a room from the computer. They both had a USB interface and I had already had a network cable in place. I simply added the Receiver at one end, connected the network cable to it, dropped the transmitter at the other end with connections to the network line and the computer and just that fast I had access to both devices. Very easy, very quick. Both Transmitter and Receiver are in metal cases, small in size (smaller than a credit card in desk space) and of robust construction. The manual that came with it was very small and really not necessary. A pictogram was all that we needed to show how to make the connections. This was a steal at the price for the aggravation it is saving me to gain access to these devices across the room. And I have two more open ports that I can use!!! ... show more

    • Failed within warranty period, can't figure out how to RMA
This USB extender worked great for about 6 months, then failed. Amazon says to contact the manufacturer for warranty replacement, but I can't find any information on how to contact Steetek. Buyer beware!

I was skeptical about this product, but after plugging everything up, the OS recognized my 3d printer as if I plugged directly into the USB port on motherboard. I was using a 50ft CAT5e cable, no issues. Happy with product.

    • Works great for 3D printer
I run Octoprint off of my home server in a Linux VM and needed a way to connect the 3D printer that is in the other side of the house to my server computer, this was the perfect solution. This thing works perfectly and is plug and play, no issues as of yet. I can't speak for other uses such as cameras and other USB devices, as the commands being sent to my printer a fairly small (EG 50mb over 10 hours), but it has been flawless for my need. ... show more

I've got this wired to go through my walls to a 3D printer and USB-Webcam. The other side is plugged into a server with a virtual machine (linux guest). This little tool has stripped the need to have a dedicated machine near the printer (Raspi 3B) and works flawlessly! Notes: No USB device will be detected till the "TX" side is powered and has a USB slave connected. We needed to extend USB connections from student lab computers to our racks for a Cisco Networking lab. The only issue was that there was no data for cabling, but through experimentation I found these work flawlessly with a standard 568A or B patch cable.
