On most modern laptops, available ports are sparce. What few USB-C ports you have should go a long way. My laptop was maxed; one USB-C port used for power, another for my 2nd monitor, leaving the remaining for every other peripheral. Even with another hub, I was constantly having to do a shuffle if I needed any other device. I was thinking, a hub that can pass the power through to my laptop would be a perfect solution, but most that actually do this are more pricey. Then I found this gem! This gives me an effective 4 additional USB ports (two A's and two USB-C). The addition of these ports- which operate at full USB 3.2 speed- plus power delivery, maximizes my I/O needs without shuffling connections anymore. This thing is sleek, does a double-duty job, and at a price that's more than fair! I didn't find another device with this much usefulness at this price range.

This thing kept disconnecting/reconnecting external USB drives until I discovered I needed to attach the USB-C PD port to a wall charger. That fixed the problem. Now it works well with two drives attached. Apparently, some USB devices need more power than the host computer I plug this into can deliver out its USB port. I've seen powered USB hubs before but their power adapters were the common DC plugs I've seen before. The PD (Power Delivery?) port does that function here. It's wasn't obvious to me and the documentation didn't describe it, but reading about PD ports showed me how to do it, along with another review on this site where someone had the same issue and fixed it this way. So I say buy this. It's great. It's a good hub, with 2 type A and 2 type C ports. It doesn't have HDMI or SDCARD inputs but I didn't need or want those. I'm happy with it.

Doesn't disconnect when transferring between 2 connected drives, transfer rates are excellent. Backed up by one heck of a company with excellent support. Couldn't ask for anything more. Going to get a second one for the laptop

This hub did exactly what I needed it to. Expand the limited ports on my laptop without losing throughput. I am running two externa Hard Drives and two SSD's of for an NVR off of this adapter and am getting great speeds. Great quality product.
