Description

The minimum depth required to mount blind is 1 1/2 inch. The minimum depth required for flush-mounting is 3 inch. Our blinds are crafted with high quality components including high profile steel head rail and quality PVC foam slats. Our blinds resist heat and humidity, and are great for all indoor areas including the kitchen, laundry, and bathroom. Installation instructions, a 3 1/4" decorative valance, valance clips, a tilt wand mounting brackets, and screws are included. Valance returns or ending corner valances are NOT included. Mounting screws provided are best for drywall or sheetrock only. They are not for concrete or metal surfaces.

I ordered 21 blinds. 18 of 1 size & 3 others for various sizes (kitchen window, back door and attic window). Only 2 out of the order were damaged so considering all the comments about damage I guess I did pretty good. Every box also had all hardware, screws and brackets needed to install. Pros: 1) The blinds “look” like high end blinds. Your friends will never know they aren’t. 2) The lift up and pull down feels good on all units and holds the weight of the blinds at any height. 3) Easy to install - inside mount is just 3 screws per bracket and then pop the blinds in and mount the valence and rod. Cons: 1) Prepare yourself mentally (not that this is actually possible) for the smell that will overtake your nose when you open the box. The blinds are “odor-free” but there is a horrific smell at the start that will go away in about an hour or so. I work in plastics extrusion and have kids… this smelled horrible. 2) 1 of 18 - the twist rod wouldn’t open or close (not up or down but the angle of the blades) the blinds. I found that the little metal bar wasn’t pushed through the twist “screw” part at top left of unit. I was able to fix easily but had to take the blind back down to do it. 3) 1 of 18 - the blinds wouldn’t close all the way down (not up or down but the angle of the blades). 1 of the strings in the middle was too tight. I had to adjust the little metal clamp on the top end of this string to allow blinds to close fully. Not hard to do but was a little tedious due to small parts. Also had to take this blind down to adjust several times. 4) Almost all of the valences had some kind of very dirty greasy looking small spots on them that was very difficult to clean off. I ended up hitting a few of them with furniture touch up paint to cover some of the spots I couldn’t get off completely. 5) my windows are about 1/2 inch wider than the blinds - the valence doesn’t completely cover the top mount bracket due to this but that’s just me being picky. Time saving tips (after having installed 21 of these): 1) open the boxes outside or in the garage - run away quickly for about 20 mins to avoid nausea 2) before starting to install fully inspect all pieces and parts to ensure nothing is damaged - make sure no metal is bent, make sure the small metal shaft in the top is going through everything up there, make sure the end brackets (plastic clips on each end at bottom and metal a-frame looking thing on each end at top) are snapped in place correctly 3) if you’re doing inside mount don’t waste your time trying to level and measure the placement of the brackets - just put it up against the top of the window opening and pull it flush to the front and mark the holes. 4) Pre drill the screw holes if you have any kind of drill. I used a 3/32 drill bit which is smaller than the screws. It makes it a lot easier to get the screws in. ... show more

My only complaint is that the cut steel, which is hidden and never needs to be touched, is not cleaned off burrs. I knicked my finger when grabbing everything out of the box. I received it today and installed it. If my terror of a child can break this over, I'll update the sturdiness rating.

White valance doesn't cover metal bar. Metal bar is too short for brackets. Installing was a nightmare and one of my slats has a chip missing. Not returning to hard to take down and put another one up. They look ok, but I was also a little upset over the color. They are an off white. They look like a cream color compared to my bright white walls. The picture on their website is the exact color. Just so everyone knows. ... show more

I purchased a set of these for our dining room. When I unpackaged them, the top frame was slightly bent in one place (looked like during the manufacturing process, not a shipping damage), but no one would see it once it was up, and it was not serious enough to return it. Once I got the side braces mounted, I mounted the center brace directly in the center of the window. When I tried to slide the blinds into all three braces, they didn't match up (I didn't have the side braces touching the top of the window frame, partly because of the bracket covers that raise and close to hold the blinds inside the braces). Plus, putting the one center brace they supplied me with directly in the center of the window makes it so that it runs right into the center string. So, I left the center brace off, because I didn't want to take out all my side screws and move them 1/8 of an inch, and it still seems very sturdy when I pull on the blinds. Another disappointing aspect of these, and maybe there's an adjustable feature I don't know about that US Window can enlighten me with, but when the blinds are all the way down, they are uneven (see the last 2 pictures). No matter how I pull and push from the bottom, they don't lay flat. The top valance looks nice and puts on that polished, finishing touch, but I feel it should've been slightly longer (see pic 5). When I ordered them, I followed their measuring requirements, but feel the valance leaves a slight gap. But none of this is enough for me not to recommend them. They look great, and are fairly easy to install. The panels are smooth and clean-looking. When closed, light still seeps in a bit (2nd photo) but blocks out a good chunk. Nothing's perfect, and these are all minor complaints that don't take away from the beauty of the finished, affordable product. ... show more

As long as you drill a hole where the screw will be going in, installation is a breeze. There was one blind that came cracked and I didn’t notice it until after I hung it. I don’t have the patience to take it down and send it in so I’m keeping it as is. I hung up a total of six blinds. It was pretty simple, as long as you follow directions. Good luck ... show more

Very sturdy, good looking standard 2 inch slat blinds. I bought these used at a pretty decent price, and they came in absolutely perfect shape. Only problem was the clip on valance for the top was missing. Someone must've bought these and they were the wrong size, so they returned them. They also forgot to put the valance back in the box. Not a true complaint because I got them so cheap. Otherwise, a great product. My other blinds (from the same company) were brand new and came with everything in perfect order. ... show more
