I have laid a lot of flooring and use a knife generally to score it and break it but the blades don't last very long. I have also tried cutting it with a jigsaw but the blades go dull pretty quick if you are cutting most straight or angled pieces this tool is great. It it well made and has a handle that is long enough that it makes it easy to cut the flooring by setting the flooring on it and just pressing down on the handle. Very easy. It comes in pieces and I found the instructions a little hard to read. I think someone needs to redo those. After it's together its easy to use. So for straight cuts you can cut flooring really fast. One thing I like about this is you can cut it in the area where you are working and not leave a mess. When I use a jig saw there is flooring pieces all over the place so cutting it and not having to deal with that is a big plus. If you have to cut around a stool ect you will have to use another type of tool, this is mostly for straight and angled cuts.

Nice sturdy easy to pull handle. Has a good sized work area to place what your about to cut. The mechanism has a solid feeling and has some weight to it. It presses down pretty smoothly and seems like it will do the job needed but I think that what will really be the true test is how long the blade stays sharp and makes clean cuts. I like how smooth the wheels are and that you can easily move it around. I don't like how the measurement markings on the side are the same color as the plank I guess that's why they included a light to helps see it better (Could be better positioned) I think a little black paint would have help with that. I was able to put it together fairly quickly but I have a smaller version so I'm a little familiar with it. The instructions could be a little better. I like that a couple of blades were included and I find a tool like this is a cleaner way to get the job done not to mention quieter. While not perfect it is a nice easy to use cutter. Much better than the smaller one I have which sold for roughly the same price and only had one blade.

I am new to DIY remodeling, so I am very impressed with this floor cutting tool. It cuts at different angles, makes no dust and takes relatively little effort to cut. The blade has stayed sharp through several uses. The deck does flex a little, but that hasn’t been a problem so far.

The .25-star ding is simply the 'always room for improvement' clause. I have used many types and brands of tools over the decades having spent the better part of 30 years in residential construction, everything from foundations to framing to finish - I've done it all. Like any such tool, it is all about the blade here - the mechanical arm action isn't really the 'business end.' 110$ isn't an unusual or uncommon price for something like this either. How long it stays sharp and what it takes to sharpen or replace blades is yet to be determined. It works/functions as one expects, but it is also a pretty basic mechanism so, yeah. I'm not overly big on getting a new tool for just 1 job/project but it certainly isn't the first or last time for that; I've got flooring and other such work to so around the home and counting on this to get it done neatly and efficiently, no obvious reason as yet why I can't expect such - time will tell.

We used this to cut TruCor Prime Pinnacle vinyl flooring, which is 12 inches wide and 12mm thick. It makes straight cuts with no dust or chips. Before we got this cutter, we used a sliding miter saw. The saw created fine dust from the thick layer of plaster-like material inside the flooring, whose was very annoying. This cutter doesn’t make any dust.

The media could not be loaded. Over all a good tool: The good: - Easy and straight forward use... Works well. The mediocre: - The plastic deck is a little thin and flexes - The instructions are lacking and had to play description picture detective to assemble - The light, although handy, is at the wrong angle... The light doesn't shine where it should when handle is at the full open position when loading the flooring. - The handle is open past 90 degrees The needs improvement: - Handle at the closed lock position takes up to much room for storage. Storage is very dear and limited for me and the unit takes up a lot of room to store. I have to remove the handle to store. - No storage area for tools and parts. (I will rig something up on the underside to store these items.) I am not a professional, but do quite a bit of remodeling for friends and family. I ordered this because I have a big project coming up and it will be much easier and quieter than using my miter saw like I've done in the past. It's 4 Stars from me.
