I bought the two pack of this adapter (G) for my trip to the UK and Ireland. Worked like a champ. I could charge multiple devices at once. I always take two adapters in case I lose one, one doesn’t work or another traveler in my group needs one. I’m getting ready to buy a C type now for Spain and Portugal. I must say I’m really tired of reviews stating these adapters work for hairdryers when it’s stated NOT to use for several products including a hairdryer and then when the bad review states it smoked/caught fire while using a hairdryer! Please read what an adapter does and what is safe to use it on. Sone people seem to think the adapter is a converter, which it is not. You would/may need a converter for a hairdryer you bring from the US, but I use the hairdryers at the hotels where I’m going since there is no adapter or converter needed there. Sorry, I’m off subject now. This is a very good adapter and I highly recommend it to charge devices safely. ... show more

With more and more items supporting a wide range of input voltages (typically 100v-240v, 50-60Hz, the need to tote around a heavy voltage converting transformer is fading away (thankfully!). I took two of these with me on a recent trip and they worked exactly as promised. Two USB-A charging ports are provided and had no problem charging two phones simultaneously. The addition of a USA-style outlet, though still at overseas voltage, was handy if I needed to charge a third device (assuming it supported the higher voltages) or plug in my laptop (which has a wide-range supply). The important caveat -- and they even have stickers on the unit to warn people -- is that they do NOT convert voltages. So if you've got something that is 110-120V only, this isn't what you need. For that, you'll need a suitable converting transformer. Very happy with these, and I recommend them. ... show more

Popped these into my carryon on a trip to London. They are not as clunky as other travel converters but they ran super hot even when charging my iPhone or IPAD. It was concerning and I was always using the on and off switch found on UK outlets just to make sure these didn’t overheat when not in use. I did like the fact that you could just put them in a UK outlet and leave them there as a US plug. That made them very convenient and raised my rating from 3 stars to 4 stars for the product. We bought a set of these for our Scotland and really enjoyed them. These are not meant to switch voltage so be aware of that, but was perfect for our phone chargers & other small electronics. I liked them enough to order a second set for our trip to France and had a good experience.
