I bought this product to charge my GMC Hummer EV at home. It works great. GMC had no idea this plug was required to plug into the wall outlet. Ive had no issues so far after 2 months. What do you think about that !

*** ALWAYS REMEMBER 50A CIRCUITS SHOULD BE USED TO CHARGE AT CURRENTS NOT EXCEEDING 40A.*** Great adapter! Solid feel and the handle is useful for getting the snug fitting disconnected. I suspect most issues are due to charging at levels beyond 40a as the adapter is rated for 50a. This is the same issue common to many melted devices used in EV charging. Remember; consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure about any aspect of EV charging. Remember charging current should never exceed 80%, preferably 75%, of the lowest rated component including the devices (receptacle) and wiring. Also; use high quality devices rated for 50A @ 75C. Some such as Hubbell or Bryant now have a EV certification. ... show more

    • Works but Doesn't fit Snug

It tested it to charge my ev using dryer. I made sure to turn the Amp to 24A after seeing all the melted pluds and reading into the issue on why that would happen... It works fine and no overheating no burning but the fit isn't snug for my charger cord and that makes me uncomfortable so I decided to return it. If your charger plug fit Snug this might be a good option as a back up. I don't think using this long term routinely is a good idea that charge your car .. I am returning. I'll just add a 14-50 plug ... show more

We use this as an adapter to charge an EV when visiting a family member who has a 220v outlet in their garage, but using a different NEMA connector than our EV charging cord. It works well and allows us to charge when traveling.
