It does seem to be real fur. The hairs taper at the end (faux fur does not), and are firmly attached to the leather core. It is very fluffy and soft with no unpleasant odor. The coloring is very close to the product photo, and I am satisfied with the length, about 15". I have a hound/pointer mix that went absolutely wild for this tail when it arrived, even before we removed it from the package. He wanted to steal it and rip it apart. The clip hardware is good quality. The metal wire and cap attaching the keyring to the tail detached shortly after it was unpackaged. A pair of pliers and some time set that right, but I'd have preferred it to have been done properly at the production stage. For the price it was a good buy.

Love this tail, only downside is that, the first time I wore it, the clip came off and I lost it, but I bought a new clip and sowed it on, and its perfect. Out of all my tails, its the only one not broken, mainly because I never wore it to school lol it broke before I could, but have worn it otherwise and its perfect. I perfer longer tails, but this is just as good, when I crouch, or sit on the floor and get up, there is no chance of my stepping on the tip and breaking it

First let me say my 8 and 10 year-old children LOVE these tails. However, so does their dog. The tail looked great and the kids were able to clip it on themselves. The tail came apart quickly when the dog grabbed it though. Despite durability not being great, I will be buying another tail. I bought 3 different ones initially and this was the prettiest.

Beautiful tail. But the leather wasn't tanned right and is brittle will need to get hemp rope and shoe goo to reinforce. But thick and fluffy as hell.

The only thing is that it's a little bigger than I thought it'd be, so it's not exactly the best thing I'd like to put my keys on, but other than that, the quality is great, not shoddy at all. Doggies love it, they think it's a little animal and keep trying to bite/play with it, so might need to be wary of that lol
