Make sure you don't accidentally buy the much cheaper set of 3 like I almost did lol, because the ones I was about to buy are for something like 1/2 wide straps, when our std adult series straps I believe are about 1''. I was hoping for the light weight plastic, straps, these are pretty heavy being steel, now that I have them on and have been using the helmet , it isn't something I notice, and maybe better than plastic regardless. :shrugs: The associated video instruction was very good, and install was easy except for having to fiddle and drop the very short screw that holds it all together, the length of the screw should be at the very least, twice the length that it is. I used blue locktite on the screw as I wasn't confident that it would not eventually back out and disappear. I attached a looped zip tye to the end of the pull strap that releases the latch for easy finding, even with gloves on, when I'm wanting to take off my helmet quickly.

I love everything about this buckle EXCEPT the red pull strap. It came straight out of the box with a frayed strap, as I have seen in other reviews. There's no excuse for that. Do they not have quality control??? I removed the strap and sewed on a new one because this is the only buckle design I like. The others seem to make the buckle way too long while this is perfect. It doesn't pull loose without pressure on the red tab, which is very sensitive. It takes no effort to release and open the buckle. The buckle itself is heavy made and the way it attaches to the helmet is great. The last three pictures are with the new strap I sewed on. This is a defect or just sloppy work and they need to fix it. I would have given 5 stars if not for the red strap, but I'm not returning it because otherwise it's perfect on my Sedici Modular. After owning this for about a week now, I absolutely love it. I'm not sure why the manufacturer doesn't do something as simple as adding a better red pull strap, but it doesn't even need the strap to work. Simply lift the red latch. It has never come undone on me nor has the screw backed out, but I use locktite for all screws. Once it refused to latch at all but I realized I was trying to insert the male end upside down. Operator error. I am very happy with this strap, and love that it doesn't add length to the strap like others since I have a small head. I would buy it again and just expect to sew on a new red pull strap or simply cut it off altogether. Those who had issues with it pulling loose either got a defective one or inserting it upside down like I accidentally did. It's 1000x better than the double D ring clasps, and just as good as my quick release on other helmets that came that way.

I was a little apprehensive to buy this with some of the reviews that it comes unfastened. I installed for the instructions. Had no problems. It did not release with pulling on it. I got my meter out and I put 45 lb of pressure on it and it did not release. I'm not sure the people that left reviews had defective product or installed incorrectly, but mine is perfect on a Shoei RF SR helmet. THIS IS THE SECOND ITEM THAT I BOUGHT TO REPLACE THE D-RINGS WITH RATCHET TYPE FASTENERS THE OTHER ONE WAS GARBAGE. THIS ONE WAS 45 LB OF FULL STRENGTH I DON'T SEE HOW THIS ONE IS GOING TO JUST COME APART. WHEN YOU PUT THE SCREW IN WHEN YOU PUT THE SHAFT THROUGH THE STRAP BY THE D-RINGS YOU MIGHT WANT TO PUT A LITTLE BIT OF THREAD LOCK ON THERE TO MAKE SURE THAT IT DOES NOT COME UNDONE THAT'S THE ONLY WEAK LINK THAT I FOUND THAT SINCE YOU CANNOT TIGHTEN IT THAT MUCH THAT YOU MIGHT WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THE SCREW HAS THREAD LOCKER ON IT OTHER THAN THAT I'M SO GLAD THAT I CAN USE THIS STRAP ON MY HELMET AND NOT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THOSE D-RINGS.

It works but! The small screw that goes into the end of the connecting bar would not unscrew. I had to squeeze the ears of the buckle together then pull and turn on the screw to remove it. I reset the ears of the buckle to the proper width and that allowed the screw to thread into the connecting bar further where there were good threads. A little thread lock and all is good. I worry about how little the lever has to move to release the buckle. About 1/8" and it releases. I hope it doesn't release if the lever hits the collar of my riding jacket?
