  • Great tool, easy hookup.
Style: Freecom 4X Size: 1 Pack
great tool! Lasts upwards of 7 hours of continued use as a music player at medium-volume (between 8 and 11 volume through my phone's player.) It connects to the phone quickly, and is exceptionally clear when taking calls. Though i haven't had a chance to try the microphone for calls. It also doesn't have any issue hearing my commands when using the cardo voice commands to switch songs or raise/lower volume. It does struggle a little bit with making calls though, but i'm going to chalk that up to my own error. ... show more

  • Cardo Freecom 4X
Style: Freecom 4X Size: 1 Pack
Best purchase and favorite motorcycle 'accessory'. People complain about how difficult these are to install, but the truth it, you're just a little slow. These took me about 10 minutes to install for the first time, including the removal of the padding in my helmet, the installation of the cardo, the wiring, and reinstallation of my helmet padding. There are many youtube videos that you can watch if you're confused, but it is really self-explanatory. The speakers are great and very loud, and will outstand very windy conditions on the highway at 75% volume. The audio is great, though the bass is a little weak since the speakers can only be so large for these helmets. Worth the money. Concerning communication with other cardo units, the connection process is simple. Just hold the pairing button with your other buddy, and once you hear "rider A pairing" and then "rider A ready", just click the pairing button again and you're all set. You can do it through the app, but it's a lot easier to just pair with the buttons. You can adjust how loud you want your music to be with how loud you want other units to be, so that way the talking isn't as loud as your music, or your music isn't as loud as other units. Very good. ... show more

  • High quality, not so easy at first!
Style: Freecom 4X Size: Dual Pack
Once you figured out how to set up the two units including helmet installation, linking and and learning to use them, the quality of sound is amazing even on a half helmet. If you have a full helmet, installing the microphone is easy (you get two types of microphones for different types or f helmets). On a half or modular helmet finding the right location for the microphone with the arm extension takes some trial and error. I’m not going to into some of the linking of the two units - there are some good YouTubes out there. Bottom line, for some the initial setup could have been made easier (but it is still manageable) but the end result is awesome and worth the effort and money. ... show more

  • Works great
Style: Freecom 4X Size: 1 Pack
Good battery life, a little tricky to memorize all the functions at first. install is easy enough, took me probably 20 ish minutes. Sound quality is great, intercoms has been a little funky lately with disconnecting but that was just on one ride so farbout of like 10. Overall great product, would recommend ... show more

  • Worth the money
Style: Freecom 4X Size: 1 Pack
The Freecom 2x is cheaper and will do everything you need that the 4x can do. The 4x can pair more people and has a slightly longer range but I'm a solo rider. I only bought the 4x because it was on sale and I'm the type of person to always have something that I might not need than need it and not have it. The sound quality is amazing and it gets loud enough even when I'm wearing earplugs. The buttons are a bit hard to press with gloves on but I don't click them too much other than to answer a call. I haven't used voice recognition so I can't comment on that but everything from the build quality to the design is a win in my book. ... show more

  • Terrible voice chat.
Style: Freecom 4X Size: 1 Pack
I've had the same set for about 5 years now with zero issues. The side buttons are getting a little worn, and the terrible dial position means that with a jacket on I accidentally roll it, but it works great. They are a bit annoying to install with the thin wiring, and doing so will be harder or easier depending on your helmet and how the internal padding is held in place (Shoei has the best padding but also makes hiding the wires a bit more annoying with how they attach). The best thing to do: Buy one with the 45mm speakers, or buy them separately. The upgraded speakers are significantly better. I didn't realize this until I bought a second helmet kit that came with the regular ones. I bought the upgrades so long ago (about a year after having it) that I forgot how different it is. Why one star? The quality of chatting with my lady is just bad. The system they use doesn't allow to change the volume of voice chat and music separately. This means that often I cannot hear what she is saying over my music, and sometimes I can't hear my music without having her voice blow out my ear drums. It's inconsistent and there doesn't seem to be any way to fix it. The person to person voice quality is pretty bad also, which is confusing because the phone call quality is actually really good. I often can't tell the difference between her phone and the helmet. Then. we ride together, and the voice quality is so much lower using the voice chat system. It doesn't make any sense. So that being said 9/5 stars if you are solo all the time 1/5 if you want to ride with friends. Also, the battery life after 5 years is about 60% of the original. I rode several times from Chicago to London Ontario without charging it, though it would be low on battery. Now a days I have to take it off about half way through and let it full charge to reach London without it dying. That said, you can charge and ride, so if you want to make that uncomfortable move, you can. ... show more
