I really wanted to love this but it just doesn't work well as intended. The plunger is smaller than the tube, while trying to crush glass it blew out from the edges, flying glass everywhere! The finish from the tube left weird silver flakes in glass, magnet didn't help. It takes much more work then my old method of filling foodsaver bags with glass and using hammer to bash it. Very disappointed with it and can't return as destroyed box with over enthusiastic opening when it arrived. Need to read reviews more carefully and ignore ones from "free product reviews" from now on! Great idea, but not well built for intended use-not great product at all. UPDATE! Seller contacted me after review and refunded me, never asked for refund, seller really cares and was NOT asked to change rating, added stars due to superior customer service! ... show more

I gave this rock crusher five stars because it works great! I tested it on a raw piece of quartz from my collection, and it broke it up nicely. Then I tried a piece of fully mineralized quartz—the kind where you’d find precious metals—and it crushed it perfectly. I was even able to pan it out!     • Inspect the welds before use!
This has the potential to be a good product. The welds on the handles were not done very well. After 15 minutes of use, one of the handles broke off completely. Upon further inspection, the handles were only spot welded and not completely welded on. This made a jagged edge on the outer part of the tool. This is a product that I typically wouldn't be looking for, but as it turns out this Rock Crusher is useful for a variety of things! The “Crusher” as I have nicknamed it, is first of all, very sleek, shiny and attractive looking. When not in use, this item is pretty enough to display on my kitchen countertop. I have heard that there is gold in the mountains near me, but that's not why I bought this. I do crushed glass art in a kiln and I ordered this so I could crush various colors of glass and melt it into mosaic style artwork. It does crush the glass easily and I have lots of material to work with, but now I just need to find time to fire up the kiln. ... show more

It’s a small rock glass ice crusher, and for what it is it works pretty well. I do have some concerns on how long the Wells will actually hold, but it does the job and crushes small rocks.
