If you're like me and your furnace is simply oil or gas fired hot water, then your old thermostat probably only had two wires, a red and a white. No fan or air conditioning. If that's the case then here's how to wire this new one: Connect the white wire to W and the red wire the RH. And remove the red jumper wire between RH and RC. That's it. Set the function switch to HEAT and leave it there. And ignore the FAN switch (it won't do anything). Insert two AAA batteries and the display will light up. To change batteries, just flip up a top compartment. You don't have to take the entire thermostat off the wall and have to fit it back on the wall. Very easy. The display is great: large and easy to read. I don't need to program anything and don't want it. This is a great, easy product.

Simple to install (just 2 wires), simple to operate (just really 2 Buttons) BUT most important SIMPLE TO SEE. This was purchased for my legally blind mother It is by far the clearest largest numbers at such a cheap price. My mom loves it - had to put 2 red rubber dimples on them 1 for the UP function 1 for the Down function - the up & dow are both white & make it hard to distinguish for her the rubber dimples make it perfect for her. ... show more
