We bought several of these Ecobees for a commercial building and they are so great! The app makes it really simple to control and you can preset temperatures for multiple units on the same app. You can also set heat and cooling limits so they don't cause utility bills to skyrocket. They are very easy to adjust the temperatures directly on the unit as well, unlike complicated programming of older thermostats where you need to read a manual to set everything after a power outage. Not these! Simple, sleek and modern! Most thermostats have color coded wiring in the wall, so observe when you are removing them from your old one. We had a much older rook unit and no color coding so we had to open up the panel of the hvac and see how the wires were connected to that board. Problem solved. Most are easier than that, but if you have any questions, call tech support or google it. Well worth it! ... show more

Works great and the app makes things easy, install was simple and easy, turn off the power, and if unsure about which breaker goes to the a/c just cut the whole house off. Install takes 15mins, turn power back on, wait about 10-15 mins for your wifi to kick back on then complete the install and it will work perfect. Absolutely love this smart thermostat! It was so easy to install, only took about 20 minutes. The instructions for the wiring were very straightforward, and the WiFi connected right away. The app interface is very user friendly even if you’re not very tech savvy. Love that I can set schedules and not have to think about adjusting the temperature when I am away. A great little unit that allows other family members to control the thermostat from anywhere in the house. I have family members who are very sensitive to heat and cold so this gives us the flexibility to control it anywhere. The installation was a breeze following the app that I pulled down from the App Store and it stepped me through all the options with no difficulty. This thermostat was easy to install and works great. I did call their helpline to verify where to put the white wire, but other than that, it was straightforward. The one thing that initially confused me was when I entered in a four digit pin, it did not take effect until after the thermostat went into sleep mode. Then the features that I had locked out using the pin were truly locked out. This took me a little bit to figure out since when I first put the pin in, it didn’t do anything. I installed two of these on one of my rental properties since some of the renters were setting the old thermostat to the lowest setting in the summer, causing the air conditioner to run all the time. This thermostat has a great feature where you can set an upper and lower temperature limit for both heating and cooling modes. This is very useful for a rental property and you can lock those ranges in using the four digit pin. Note that you have to enter the four digit pin at the thermostat itself. There’s no way to do that remotely through the app. But once it has been set you can change any of the settings via the app or locally on the thermostat. ... show more
