I am impressed with this thermostat. It's easy to connect and use. I especially like the "Tech" setup menu which allows you to do a whole array of customization. The only menu item I changed from the default was the display temperature calibration because the thermostat display was 2 degrees higher than my inside thermometers. This particular thermostat works I've been through at least three of them that have purchased in other places this is the first one that actually works it's accurate easy to install and it works comes on goes off like it's supposed to. The only reason that I gave it four stars is that it shows a pilot light which means heat I guess.. I was confused usually there's a sun for heat not a flame means gas to me. It does have the snowflake for cold. other than that it is perfect you just set the temperature and it works. I'm happy ... show more

This is a excellent choice for a inexpensive heat pump thermostat, it took less than 10 minutes to install and it's your basic non prograble thermostat, for people that has trouble programming anything or who don't want a very expensive thermostat this is the one to buy, the price is excellent and it's a very good looking thermostat ... show more

    • This thermostat has no tech support.
I installed this thermostat and it worked great for one day before the screen went blank. Batteries are good and I connected a com wire to the C terminal providing 24 volts from R terminal to C terminal. Removed the thermostat and put in two new batteries and it still doesn't work. Pulled out the box and instructions but there is no information or phone number for support. I owned a commercial HVAC/refrigeration company for 30 years so I'm very familiar with the installation. I have no choice but to return it to Amazon. ... show more

    • Heagstat H721 Non-Programmable Heat Pump thermostat swap out was straight forward (read review)
The Heagstat H721 Non-Programmable Heat Pump Thermostat was a fairly easy swap out from a VIIVE TP-N-721. The plug on back plate was different. I killed the evaporator control voltage breaker. Then took a picture of the before thermostat wiring for color codes and connection point reference which was similar. Get help from an electrician if you don't know what you are doing electrically. This thermostat controls the compressor control relay, the reversing valve and the heat strips. I laid out the two thermostats documentation side by side for reference. Amazon delivered the thermostat the next day, so we did not have to go without too long. ... show more
