I needed this for an event. I filled the base with sand. Had difficulty closing the valves as some had poorly trimmed vinyl partially covering them. Finally got it Inflated. The next morning, it was flat. The materials are just not of the quality to withstand heavy use. I went from frustrated to angry. I could have used a punching bag, unfortunately, I didn't have one. DISAPPOINTED!!

I don’t recommend putting water on the base since it causes leaks and adds more weight, creates bacteria, and accidents. Sand is better since it has less weight and it’s cleaner and lasts longer. After you filled air on the base, be careful of not dragging on concrete rocks and sharp objects or you’ll risk popping it. I popped mines and water was coming out . The patches they come with from the box are cheap quality. So I emptied out the water and took the matters out of my own hands I went to Home Depot to buy Gorilla Waterproof tape and cheap sand. I filled the sand and air, this solved the issue and it works again.

I filled the base with water but sand can be used too if you'd like it to be heavier, but the water has remained it quite stable. It has a nice rebound when struck. Size was very good for a teen, but not as heavy duty as I thought. The quality seemed great, air retention, functionality is good. Just was not as durable as would have liked. The teen that it was purchased used it for his anger outburst, it didn't hold as well as I thought. But for normal use it would be perfect exercise tool.
