When a friend saw that I put the veggies in the baskets, he asked why not just use foil. I like grilling over an open fire but don't enjoy the mess and labor involved in using skewers. The baskets really helped in this area. Grill marks and smoky flavor over an open flame without too much effort! It was also easy to baste each basket with a different sauce with the turn hooks provided. A bit more inspired now to do more BBQs while still good weather. Try grilling pineapples!
