Replacement works great. It looks to be a newer revision as well. Edit: After discussing with the rep that this fix was beyond my capabilities, a replacement is going to come in very soon. Thank you customer service. Assuming the replacement works as I expect and the fact that no matter what you buy, you're going to have bad batches, I'm satisfied with my purchase. After owning the headunit for several months, I noticed some failures with the touchscreen that started to get worse as time went on (same as others that starting having issues at this time of ownership). I started doing some diagnosing with someone at podofo over email which took a very long time until I was told I'd get a replacement screen. I looked at the instructions (by video) of what this involves and it is more than I'm comfortable with. I'm pretty disappointed as of right now. I'm still conversing with someone at podofo about the matter. The head unit works as it should. Very simple. Don’t expect top quality audio. I hear some interference sometimes. For the money it’s pretty great. Some installation notes (for a Lotus Elise and other applicable cars), when pushing the head unit in after wiring, do so with the screen up so you don’t push it in so far that your DIN panels won’t get in the way. First time I pushed in the head unit, it clicked in properly but the screen would flip up because it was hitting down AC vents. I had to take off my interior panels (breaking some clips while doing so) to get the head unit out again (once it’s in, because the front panel won’t come off, you cannot use a DIN tool to remove. ... show more

I will lead with the bottom line: at this price, this is a 5-star unit. I considered less than 5 stars but what's the justification? It didn't function like a unit 2, 3, 4 times more money? That would not be a fair evaluation. That would be like rating a Jr High starting quarterback against the top-rated NFL starter. My only complaint (and the reason I returned for full refund): the tuner and Android Auto cannot operate together. You cannot listen to local traffic reports on your favorite news station while letting Google Maps also give you traffic flow info. This is the only negative I found about this radio in the less than 24 hours I had it in my 2002 Silverado 2500HD (btw fits great). This was a deal-breaker for me. I suppose I could have worked out getting radio stations via phone and that might have solved the issue. Hmmm...wish I'd thought of trying that before I returned it. Okay, for real...I am going to finally get an app for radio on my smart phone and see how well that works. I may end up sending the Boss 7" removable screen back for refund and re-purchasing this Podofo unit. I did not test the rear camera.     • Overall, it’s a decent unit for the money
This is a budget friendly, low-tech wireless AndroidAuto CarPlay AM/FM receiver with a manual pop out display. This unit does exactly as the product description says. When wired properly, the unit performs within expectation of functionality. Considering the cost, this is a great value for upgrading your single din stereo. There are some things you should know, however. When in standby mode, the unit consumes a great deal of power. When it is in standby, the screen goes blank and the front LED’s turn off. In theory, it’s “off”. After all, I did press the off button so this is what I would have expected. Like most car stereos, this unit has two power leads: One is for a direct connection to a 12vdc power source and the other is for a connection to a “keyed” power source. This design is acts like a relay: “If key is off, disconnect power from stereo”. I wired this unit into a camper van and wanted the option to have the stereo on when the key is off so I wired both stereo leads to an auxiliary 12vdc power source. This setup works great, however because this unit is designed to work with a mobile device, it’s always “hunting” for a connection so it can auto-join and turn itself on. Because of this, there is a significant draw even though it appears to be off (standby). I also noted a high degree of heat coming from the top of the unit when it is in standby which confirms the energy draw. For me, I am OK with this because my system is powered by auxiliary lithium batteries that are charged with solar. That said, this unit will consume 200Ah over a 10 hour period. Thats a big draw. With the unit configured to turn off via the key wire, the draw is much less however I noted that it still drew a fair amount of energy, enough to kill a standard crank battery within 10 days. Otherwise this is a solid product. If you add an amplifier downstream, then the audio quality is very good. Hope this helps someone. ... show more

    • Display quit after several months
This car stereo was working fine then one day the display just quit. There’s some faint crosses but nothing responds and now it doesn’t do anything when it starts. There also doesn’t seem to be any support. Very frustrating.
