I've been seeing these on FoodTube and recipe blogs for a few years now. The current kitchen isn't terribly small, but having had a tiny kitchen for 15 years, I still generally avoid single use tools. I've also spent way too much time trying to finely chop ground meats with a spatula, and to boot, all that causes more grease splatter than I'd like. Well, in comes this tool. I was so pleased with the first use on ground beef that the following day, I wanted to try it on extra sticky/fatty sausage. Why did I wait so long? This made for quick work, less splatter, and a nice fine chop. Some have reported that this tool has scratched their pans... Not sure I'd use it in my quality non-stick, but I haven't been gentle in my (less than well cared for) cast iron (where I think I'd see some evidence in the imperfect season/coat), nor has it marked my treasured heavy duty stainless steel pots. These materials are stronger than non-stick, of course, but I do know I'd see some evidence of scratching if that happened. The tool may be okay in decent quality non-stick, but why risk it? Heavy cast iron and stainless are better for that sear anyway. 😉 Lastly, I also saw some reviewers that were unhappy in how raw meat sticks between fins. Yeah, that happens early while meat is still pretty raw but fixes itself moments later as the cook progresses and things get a little stiffer and or greasier. Love this tool! ... show more

Where has this been all my life! It’s so handy for anything in a pan that needs to be smashed. It made my bolognese making a million times easier ( have to mash up all the meat while cooking) and it smashes potatoes like it’s nothing.

Worked exactly as I expected especially when making anything that requires ground beef to be browned and chopped. The edges are curved to fit along the bottom and side of the pot so nothing gets left behind. I have put it in the dish washer several times and it cleans up great.
