I bought this to cut 1/2 inch French fries which it does very well. The 1/4 inch screen is great for salad vegetables. But what I use the most is the excellent apple corer. This is easy to use and easy to clean. You can just wash the whole unit in the kitchen sink without any disassembly. But it is better to disassemble to dry properly. Was wondering why it would not cut a potato until I figured out I had the handle connected upside down, which eliminated all the leverage. Once corrected, this thing breezes through anything you put through it. Very sturdily built but use the included glove when cleaning or handling the blades as they are razor sharp. So easy to slice and core fresh apples which makes an easy and healthy snack. A little tough to change blades but very much worth the effort. French fries are not the evil food they once were when lightly oiled and cooked in our air frier. A little more expensive than most of the others, but well worth the extra cost. ... show more
