I love the fact that I can now cut up fries with ease, with a more professional look. This cutter allows the potatoes to cut with an end result of the fries coming out with the same thickness, which allows them to all cook evenly. Te price was a good price as well. The downside to this model is the metal guide plates on the sides and bottom do not lock in place once you assemble after cleaning. I spent more time trying to assemble and affix the plates in order for them to stay in place so that I could attach the blade. I immediately started looking at other cutters with better construction, to replace this one. BTW, the wife was impressed with the appearance of the fries and how well I prepared them. ... show more

    • Had to cut potatoes in half horizontally to use this
Size: 3/8 Inch Blade
Mine arrived with the pushing plate and cutting plate already assembled on the unit. Installing the arm and handle were pretty simple. When it came to cutting the fries, it was difficult until I came up with a method that worked for my situation. I cut the potatoes in half horizontally, then put the unit on my breadboard, with the end the fries come out up against the edge my counter. This way it didn't slide around and I could apply enough force to push the arm down. Once the potato started through the cutting plate, I was able to move the unit away from the edge of the counter and complete the cut. I plan on using c-clamps to secure on to a table eventually. Awkward to wash it with the big lever arm in the way, etc. ... show more

It is wise to invest in good quality, heavy-duty very well made kitchen utensils that wonโ€™t scratch, break or leach into your food. Definitely on the list of my best purchases on Amazon on 2021. Does exactly what it should and easy to clean. Does not tarnish, I love it and hope it lasts me for decades. You do have to be a bit patient with assembling it and be careful with your fingers but overall ; itโ€™s A great buy ... show more

We love sweet potato fries and as everyone knows raw sweet potatoes are tough to cut. But this did it beautifully. Some tips though to make pushing the potato through easier. Cut in half longways and place the smaller end at the blades. The blades can handle the smaller side first and then move on to the larger side as it pushes through. This thing works, had both of my kids try to use it (12 and 14 years old) and they were able to use it,with lots of effort, lol. So yeah, not for everyone, but I used it on large brown potatoes, which are harder, yellow and red might go easier!

I use this to make french fries. I used to cut the potatoes with a knife. Now it is so much easier. Just peel the potatoes and one push on the lever for each potato and done. The blade is very sharp so be careful when cleaning. It has a very sturdy frame and made of stainless steel.

Right out of the box this was obviously a well made study product. I was a little surprised on how big it was. I have used it several times, all with potatoes. It cuts great if you are able to have it in a position that is slightly lower than your counter top. Maybe if you are a taller person you wouldn't have to. Over all, a great product. ... show more

Honestly this has turned into one of my favorite kitchen tools and I use it all the time for precise straight cuts. Potatoes, carrots, parsnips, it's absolutely great. I have arthritis and bring able to just do one easy push and have perfectly cut fries etc is really great.
