This is solid frame that we purchased to replace the wooden slats on a newly purchased bed that squeaked at every turn & caved in on the first night after much disappointment we settled for metal bunkie board we bought the 8 - inch my only regret - I should have bought the 14inch but nonetheless it's solid fits perfectly within the king bed frame, has plastic on the bottom to protect wooden floors 👌. You can use it with or without a box spring we already had box springs so after assembly we just put the box springs & mattress on top so the bed is a little higher, it's comfortable no more squeaking & best is peace of mind knowing I'll never have to worry about wooden slats or replacing them ever again ! I couldn't believe what a small box this kingsize bed frame came in but it was perfect. It was easy to assemble which I did by myself (69 year old lady) and it is sturdy and well built and reasonably priced. I'd definitely buy it again.

PROS: --Easy to put together, sturdy, low profile, simple/minimalistic design, inexpensive (exactly what I was looking for) CONS: --The mattress slips from side to side. I had to purchase Non-Slip Mattress Gaskets from Amazon to keep the mattress on the frame. It works like a charm. --You're going to stub your toe on the "legs". Easy fix - I purchased 1-inch pipe insulation (looks like a black pool noodle) from a home improvement store (sprinkler section). It was about $4. Cut it with scissors and wrap it around the legs. It looks great and is covered by the comforter. It also saves you from adding money to the swear jar. And when you do kick it, it feels like you've just kicked a stuffed animal. ... show more

This frame is low to the ground, but the bed frame has no lip to prevent the mattress from slipping right off the smooth surface. A simple addition of a wing nut like setup could prevent dangerous problems as we discovered.
