I was having trouble finding a replacement keypad for our pre-1993 Challenger garage door opener with an older style Multi Code keypad. This older Challenger model does not have a "learn" button and relies on using the 10 dip switches to program the keypad to work. Challenger is not listed as a compatible model in the instructions list, though, since it's a 10 dip system and operates on a 300MHz frequency, I used the Linear brand coding (option 12 in instructions) which utilizes the same operational parameters as the Challenger. It worked perfectly on the first attempt at programming and opened my garage door successfully. Definitely purchase this keypad if you have an older dip style opener as it works great and is easy to set-up.

BeanKOneal Universal Garage Door Keypad I tried for a couple of hours to program this remote to no avail. Finally got it to program & work my Sears door motor Model 139.53600 / Liftmaster 41A3066. Sears Remote Model 139.53718 It didn't program correctly or work because I used the DIP switch settings from my original operable car visor remote. It has 8 dip switches. After a couple of frustrating hrs, checking & rechecking my dip switch settings, I almost gave up & thought I'd have to return it. I climbed a ladder to check the Craftsman main motor dip switches which happened to be a 9 DIP switch. I cleared the Universal keypad of all previous codes and put in the 9 DIP switch codes. (following the written Universal Keypad instructions precisely) It installed it perfectly & the remote keypad now works with my 25-30 yr old Craftsman 1/2 HP garage door opener, along with my original car visor remote control. (which had only 8 dip switches) - the first switch from the main motor evidently wasn't used or needed on the remotes they sold with the garage door opener unit. In small letters on the bottom of the programming instructions was the following helpful instructions: "if your programming process is messed up or your pin is messed up, you can press and hold Buttons "1" and "#" on the keypad for 5 seconds and it will restore factory settings." I cleared the codes EACH TIME after putting in a couple wrong "Opener I.D 2 digit codes and it worked on the third try. Compatibility list & Opener ID codes are included in the precise instructions. (only a couple words spelled wrong..Example: they wrote TEXT each time instead of TEST, No biggie, I understood the instructional sentences clearly. This opener is stated to work with most "Colored Learn button" Garage door openers as well as most popular DIP switch Garage Door openers. 1993 to present. Very clear Instructions are given for all types of motor opener code settings. Make sure you pick the correct procedure. Also lighted keys for night operation. Works w/9V battery installed. That's right, installed, not sold separately. That's a switch! Hope it lasts..... mounted on the garage door frame outside. Happy. Hope it lasts. Made in China June 2023

I tried two of these. Both worked for less than 3 days. Easy to program for a 9 dip switch controller. Both units initially worked fine, then started beeping non-stop after a few days. Tried the factory reset, no help. Would not stop beeping. I will say that the supplier had great customer service. I emailed them and they got back to me within 12 hours. Everything they suggested would not work. They offered to refund my money but just sent back to Amazon instead for a refund.

Had my contractor try to install this while I was out of town. He stated that he tried everything he could think of to try to program it to no avail. I asked him to return it but when I got back home he hadn’t and it was past the return window. Having nothing to lose, I contacted customer service and received a reply in less than an hour. I wasn’t optimistic but tried the instructions provided (which were the same as on the instructions included in the package). The only additional step was to first reset the keypad to factory settings. (Hold the 1 and # buttons at the same time until you hear 5 beeps) I was able to program the keypad on my first attempt. Only time will tell if it lasts.

I tried a whole bunch of times to program according to the printed directions that came with the keypad and couldn't get it to work. Then I found these directions on someone's Amazon review here and presto it worked. My thanks to the earlier reviewer. I cut/pasted their directions below with my appreciation. Keypad Remote for Genie Model 1035 1. Press and hold Button "1" and the "#" on the keypad for 5 seconds and the keypad will beep 5 times and restore the factory settings 2. Start with the gate or garage door closed 3.【Press and hold】 the 【# Button】3 seconds until keypad beeps twice 4. Press the Keypad Button【05】 (Press 0 and 5 in sequence) and press【# Button】to confirm (Press and release the # button, don't hold it) 5. Enter the 4-digit password you want to set ( e.g. 6969), then press【# Button】to confirm. The keypad will beep 5 times. (Press and release the # button, don't hold it) 6. Press and hold the garage door opener until the LED turns blue and the purple LED begins flashing. 7. Enter the 4-digit password you set in step 5, Then press and hold the ENTER Button 3 times. and it hasn't worked yet hopefully manufacturer/seller will respond with helpful guidance.l

Moved into a condo that never had an external keypad opener for the circa 2004 Wayne-Dalton Classic drive 3018. Sometimes they're just so convenient! But the brand name keypad was twice this price, beyond reason to me. This unit has good reviews, now I see why. Quick, easy installation. Detailed instruction sheet covers numerous manufacturers. Over the years I've paired/programmed clickers for the car and exterior keypads at other homes - this was the best instruction sheet I've seen. Gives detailed procedure plus complete steps with tips for several of the most common brands. Set up on 1st try, no hassle! Works for old-school DIP switch openers as well as the various "Learn button" types (which my Wayne-Dalton calls "Program button"). Haven't used the temporary code program yet - lets you put in a temp code and a number of openings for that code to work before it resets back to your original code. Might come in handy if I plan to give access to someone while I'm away.

This wireless keypad was a breeze to program and install. The most difficult part was knowing if the Genie garage door opener was a 315Mhz or 390Mhz rolling code. Mine was the 315Mhz. I used my software define radio (SDR) dongle to find out since Genie's manual didn't say and it's not written on the remotes or the motor unit. Armed with this knowledge the keypads instructions are good and printed in large enough type to be readable with easy to follow directions. The tactile feel of the buttons is excellent and further indication by the LED's help to identify if the button was pushed properly is a major plus. This is something the original Genie wireless keypad does poorly. I replace the Genie because the battery terminals corroded for some reason, probably because the battery door doesn't seal properly. But the battery door on this keypad seems good, but only time will tell.

Works great! We have an older door system with a Stanley M-Code receiver with DIP switches and no learn button. Couldn't find a compatible keypad until we located this one. Programmed it according to the instructions, which were pretty clear on how to program for an older system like ours, and it works perfectly. One tip, I programmed it wrong the first time (had the DIP switch code backwards for my 1's and 0's) and had to reset the keypad then try again. There are instructions how to reset to factory but it wasn't obvious -- read it thoroughly and the reset code is there toward the end of the instructions. The quality of it seems very good, buttons seem tough enough, and the cover opens and closes easily. Overall I rate this a 5-star item. I will report back if we have problems.
