So I had an Alpine Amp MRV-M500 fail and took my old subwoofer out and needed a replacement 12". I took a chance with this sub and box combo that cost only $20 or so more than the MSRP of the sub itself. This seller does not appear to be an authorized online Alpine Retailer, but must be able to get them at cost through a brick and mortar business? I was worried either I was going to get a gray market or counterfeit subwoofer, or a mediocre box. This seems well built and is essentially plug and play, which is what I wanted as I didn't have time to build a custom box tuned to a new sub. Sub works well and I feel good about my purchase. I hope this is helpful to anyone on the fence. I want to say it came surprisingly early too, like the next day. I guess I ordered it early enough in the day, and I am only 1 state away from the seller's location. ... show more

I was extremely pleased with this sub and box. I knew what I was getting subwoofer wise but did not expect the quality of the box to be so good. Very well built and sturdy. I had speaker wire and everything ready thinking I was going to have to wire everything up and sub was already wired correctly to the output I wanted. Made it very easy. Nicely done!     • speaker good - but that is not the correct box of the speaker

per the manual: this speaker is best tuned with 1.71ft of internal space with a 12.5 area of port 16" long. This box is over 2 ft and the port of closer to 50 inches of area. Connected to a racked amp confirmed it is tuned for way lower then it should and barley makes any power in the 40-50hz range.

Bought the sub and the enclosure.....and also got the alpine mrv-m500 class d mono amp......got it in a 94 mustang gt.....and it thumps.....cant go wrong.....i was looking for a little bass.....this stuff thumps my little car....
