Works great and looks almost brand new. For the price you cannot beat this. Pretty easy to install. No problems with water condensate leaking out. Dual hose in a single hose is easy to install. Right height for the window with some wiggle room. I got this for the hottest part of the summer to supplement central AC in south FL. It does the job well on low and doesn’t overheat the plug cycling regularly to off. However, On high it’s very power hungry but cools great. We had a week long power outage and this was able to keep a large upstairs bedroom with a high ceiling cool all by itself on a generator. I did have to use a heavy duty twist lock to 15r RV cord or the GFCI on the generator would blow every time the compressor cycled / 12 gauge cord got hot. With the 10GA rv cord no cord heat, no problems and was a life saver. ... show more

    • Save your money...
So i will do my best to make this a quick a condensed review. Just don't... Firstly, the product listing is misleading at best considering i ordered a black version and received a white unit. Annoying but not the end of the world, given my circumstances I couldn't really complain and i needed a functional unit quickly. Bare in mind, though explicitly stated in multiple places on the product listing it was to be black it infact was not lol. Pros: Uh.. it blows cold air...when it wants too. Cons: The "dual hose" gimmick is really a hassle beyond words, it is very stiff and moving the unit simular to any other standing unit like this is not possible, the shape of the hose does not allow for side to side motion and versatility like other units like this. This is hands down one of the most frustrating "Smart" ac's ive ever had the displeasure of using. The remote is very poorly designed firstly and multiple functions of the unit are not use able with the remote OR app, it requires manually using button sequences on the unit itself such as holding the fan button to set continuous fan to be on (even when not cooling i preffer the fan running) the unit and remote do not interact together well, if you turn the unit on manually for example as you walk by, the remote is not useable until you turn it on with the remote (power on, and power on again before the remote communicates, this stands with the app as well) The app is useless i dont even want to spend 30 minutes explaining any further than that trust me its just flat out useless. The unit requires you to remind it to function on the room temperature which is very odd to me considering that's usually the whole point of a unit like this one. So you will spend a good amount of time hitting buttons (only on the remote of course, not the app or unit itself because that would all make to much sense) to check the room temperature, and cool to your settings. Otherwise it will just randomly say here have some cold air now im going to take a nap. Set at 65 degrees and the room temperature is 78 close enough. I cant even say it is energy efficient because it uses energy to power the leds while it sits idle and refuses to respond to whatever you set it to do. This leads me to my biggest annoyance, it does not remember settings. Temperature setting only. Everything else via app, unit controls, or remote has to be set up EVERY SINGLE TIME you power the unit on. The fan speed, or air flow angle, or "smart sense" even led brightness have to be reset every use, regardless of how you try to operate the unit. ... show more

    • THE BEST I'VE EVER OWNED
I have had more portable air conditioners than I can even count in my near 70 years. Most last a season, some window units can actually do okay for 3 to 5 years, but the majority of these upright air conditioners with the exhaust hose is good for no more than a couple of summers. It's usually obvious in the really hot part of summer that the compressor is struggling, and the capacitor kicks on and off continuously, as it discharges tens of gallons of water, never truly maintaining a constant and comfortable temperature until the sun goes down. The last thing I will comment on about most air conditioners with external exhaust hoses is about the dust. Within 72hrs without thoroughly dusting, you could grow a garden on everything in the room. NOW ABOUT THIS HEAT PUMP TECHNOLOGY. THIS THING IS WONDERFUL. It maintains the room at a constant cool temperature. It's almost silent, no compressor kicking on and off, and my electric consumption has dropped dramatically. I bet it hasn't discharged 5 gal of water in the last 3 months. There is virtually no outside dust sucked in and blown all over my house with this double hose technology. Because there is no compressor constantly kicking on and off and trying to cool the evaporator with outside air, it not only eliminates the dust, it takes a major heat sorce out of the equation. In my humble opinion it's the best and most efficient air conditioner that I have ever purchased. ... show more

Oh THIS is the portable AC I should have bought the first time. A couple of summers ago I bought a Newair AC that seemed dandy. But it couldn’t cool all my space. (It wasn’t rated to, so no problem.). This summer it didn’t work. An area I don’t think they told me to clean needed cleaning. I cleaned it. And the fan that pushes the hit air outside wouldn’t turn on. So I just bought a Midea portable AC, refurbished so much less expensive than new. This is the unit Wirecutter recommended, but I decided to save money two years ago. Anyway, it got here a couple of days ago. Much bigger than the Newair, and much stronger fan volume. Love it! Works better than the old unit, and cools more air, though they are rated the same. ... show more

Cooled the room well. Did not cut humidity well and was very loud in the low setting. It made a constant chirping sound. We are returning it because the sound is higher pitched and constant

    • Portable AC unit, refurbished. Bought two one was good.
Ordered two of these units. Both refurbished. One gave error code PC 04 (Compressor communication or wiring problem). The other worked very well. Cooled well, easy set up with son, boxed well. Both units looked brand new. Was able to return from my doorstep, did not have to go to the shipping location. Easy return, select date and credited back to amazon or card. Ordered another one before ship date so I would have AC. You are able to select your return date. My faulty unit ran in low speed manual mode with out giving a code so I still got some cooling. High/mid speed and auto mode shot a code PC-04. ... show more

    • The worst purchasing experience I have ever had
I would not recommend you order a renewed version from Amazon. And actually, at this point, I wouldn't even recommend Midea as a company as they are associated with this terrible experience. I ordered a renewed unit at the beginning of June. It was estimated for the end of June for delivery. At some point, the delivery got lost, no one contacted me. After reaching out, I was offered another unit, that would take another TWO weeks to ship out at the earliest. I still wanted this unit, so I let it slide and went for the replacement. The replacement shows up three weeks later, and is now missing a window part so I can't even install the unit. Support will only offer full refunds, which is clearly not what I want. They don't have the ability to send just the missing part. And will not offer a partial refund. This has been a terrible experience, and it should make anyone hesitant on buying renewed items from Amazon, and honestly, even Midea stuff in the future. Shame on them both. ... show more

These Midea Duo with inverter are WICKED GOOD. I’ve had several portable air conditioners over the years and have to say this Unit is the best yet. Gets wicked cold, and is quiet. I liked the first unit so much I bought 2 more $300 a piece that’s about 1/2 price and in Florida when its hurricane season these 110 volt units strategically place will keep my home comfortable and are a low draw on my 7500 watt generator plus being portable they are easy to relocate. ... show more
