I had a hand crank fertilizer spreader which was difficult to use. This spreader is battery operated and worked great. The biggest reason I bought this was I had the correct battery from other tools I have.

I was so excited to get this, thinking it would make my life so much easier since I have a large yard to seed. Then read the instructions. Has to have a 14v to 18v Makita power tool lithium ion battery to operate and that is not included with the purchase of the spreader. And of course you can't use the battery if you don't have the charger as well. The battery and charger cost as much or more than the seed spreader itself, if you don't already have a Makita power tool with the right voltage battery. In my case I actually had to buy a drill because it was cheaper to buy a drill set than to buy the battery and charger separately. The spreader works now, but it was way more expensive in the end than what the sticker price says. Buyer beware! ... show more

    • Recommended for more than just seed.
There are multiple settings, good instructions and setting recommendations, levers for how fast, how wide, and how much. The overall feel of this, the general construct and dials and levers are okay, and it seems to me that this should hold up to use. Overall, this is really neat, and I like it. I tried it out with some leftover ice melt from last year. It definitely shoots the ice melt out, no problem at all!. My driveway is very long, so this will be helpful this winter keeping it clear of ice, which always happens. I tested it for probably 10 minutes, and it was easy to get used to.     • Easy To Use
“Uiqwamo Grass Seed Spreader” is much easier to use than both my old hand-crank seeder or our walk-behind push seeder. I love that I can put grass seed into the spreader and just walk around our property without having to turn a handle. The hopper is a good size, so I don’t have to refill it as often as my hand-crank seeder. The grass seed spreader is a little on the heavy side, but because I don’t have to hand-crank the seeder, I’m able to use both hands to hold the spreader. In addition, this battery-powered seeder (battery not included) takes up a lot less room in our shed than our old push seeder—this seed spreader sits nicely on a shelf.     • Life saver for large property
I used this for about 5 acres. The ground is uneven so I can’t use a rolling spreader. The battery option saves my arms and make the spreading very even. Depending on how big the area you are trying to cover is, you might need more than one battery. Pretty good gadget and worth the price

The media could not be loaded. I have two hand -pushed seeding machines and fertilizer spreader, but I got this electric seed spreader, which doesn't have a battery, but I was lucky enough to have a makitar lawn mower, and its battery fits the seed spreader, so I think the two big guys can retire. The grass seed sowing machine is easier to use than the old hand -push -type seeder. I just need to hold the switch and take a walk in the yard, instead of cooperating with its rhythm like a hand -pushed seedriWhen （the pushed seeding machine is pushed too fast, the wheels will slip, so that it will not take the sowing disk to work).Therefore, this grass seed sower is convenient to use, save time and effort, spread evenly, very suitable for me this lazy person ... show more
