    • Soooo Satisfied With the Uniden Radar Detector
This radar detector was well worth the money! It sticks well to the lower windshield of my car and doesn’t budge when the heat or a/c kicks on. It has three modes - city, state, and laser. It picks up state radars well in advance of seeing their vehicle. It does, however, pickup some store security alarms, but with frequent use you learn where these spots are. It only beeps when a radar is within range. Luckily, since I’m definitely no mechanic, it has super easy installation.     • Basically All You Need
I will not lie, this radar detector is not the most advanced, but it is effectively all you need as it detects generally everything speed radar related out there today by what I have been able to figure. I don't consider myself a super speeder, but after I effectively was robbed by a self righteous bandit (sheriff) near a no name town in Florida for 7 MPH over, tried to fight the ticket, lost, and then had to deal with the aftermath, it seemed time to even the odds a little. It DOES NOT give you license to speed and DOES NOT jam police radar, but it DOES give you forewarning that you are about to zoom into a speed trap, giving those few seconds to slow it down, ending the game of cat and mouse before it even started. While it does not show where the signal is coming from or give the speed limit, it comes at a much more reasonable price point and doesn't seem to need too much care once installed, and best as I can tell, gives very few false warnings, especially in city mode. Came with a suction cup mount and velcro (personally I prefer dash mounted), and with very few controls, you can operate it with as much attention as a radio if even that. With the volume up, can even hear it over Van Halen so not much to really dislike unless you want something more flashy. ... show more

    • Excellent Alerts But Not Recommended for South Carolina
Does alert as expected, But SC could save a lot of $$$$ in the State budget by not purchasing Radar or Laser devices or even installing speed limit signs on highways and even School Zones. Why? Because state troopers, county sheriffs’ and most municipalities don’t bother themselves enforcing speeders or reckless driving in South Carolina. If you live in a state that does like Washington this radar / laser detector is a good buy. ... show more

This works OK. But, it does not pick up long range like my old radar detector did. I would not buy this one again.

    • Great features for mid level radar detector / excellent value
So many people have reviewed this radar detector in depth so I'll hit the highlights. First of all it is equipped to detect the following radar bands; K, KA, X, and Laser so it's got you covered. No real setup needed which is also nice, you mount it, plug it in, and turn it on using the volume knob. Another thing that's great is it does'nt have false alarms while traveling down the highway or interstate. If it goes off, you're being clocked or about to be because it does have a very long distance detection area including behind you. That's not a feature that you typically see at this price point, at least one that actully works well. You will get some KA detections if you're in a parking lot and motion activated entry doors are being used.... obviously. I bought this specifically for a 1100+ mile trip and was amazed how well it worked and how many times it saved my a$$. I didn't use the suction cup mount and opted to purchase a sticky rubber dash keeper pad like you would use for a cell phone. My reason for this was because I'm a little OCD and looking at this stuck to my window would drive me crazy but more importantly when cops point radar at oncoming vehicles they are trained to point it at the grill of your vehicle. Placing it on the dash puts the detector closer to line of sight which in theory could be more accurate and possibly give you slightly more warning.
