I got this because our last umbrella finally died and we needed a replacement. I got the burgundy 46" one, and the color is beautiful, and the size is okay for 2 people if they don't mind being close. We do love the easy to use button to open it and to close it. My only issue is once it is closed, the top layer doesn't fold down nicely (sticks up - think it is too short), and then trying to wrap it up to secure it with the strap is nearly impossible. Overall - a solid 4 for me. It works beautifully but is a pain to fold up and secure...the top layer needs to be a bit longer so it doesn't bunch up on top when it is collapsed, and the secure strap could be a bit longer to help secure it since it doesn't "fold up" as nice as it does when it was manufactured.

This is a good, sizeable, sturdy, and efficient umbrella. The automatic open and close mechanism is clever and works as advertised. A trial run in a heavy shower showed that the umbrella's is indeed waterproof, and its generous size provides good coverage for one or two individuals (providing they don't mind standing close to each other!) Weighing in at a bit under one pound (14.4 oz., to be precise), this umbrella might be a bot on the heavy side for carrying in a backpack or a briefcase, but it is ideal for stashing in a car. The sole drawback is that it is somewhat difficult to refold the collapsed umbrella so that it can be placed in its fabric carrying case; it can be done, but it does require some effort. All in all, howver, I like this umbrella, and it now occupies a place of honor in my car.

I got this umbrella in the smaller size as I like having travel umbrellas for when I go to rainy places and don't want to worry about buying or borrowing an umbrella when I got there. The downside of these automatic umbrellas, though, is that they weigh a lot more than manual ones, and unless you really need to be able to open your umbrella with one hand, I'm not sure it's worth it. Manual travel umbrellas are easy to open and, more importantly, easy to close. As automatic umbrellas go, this one opens quite easily and seems very sturdy and well-made. But the "down" button only closes the top part -- it doesn't retract it into the base. You still need to push it in and it takes a lot of pressure. I had to rest the top part upside down on the pavement and lean down on the handle. I'll be keeping this one in my car for unexpected rain, but will purchase a more lightweight model for travel.

It's a regular folding umbrella that pushes the button to open and pushes the button again to collapse it. You will just have to shorten it manually to pack it away. the gaps between the 2 layers of the canopy allow the wind to escape.

As the title says, this umbrella works great (so far it's only been used twice at the time of writing this) but the little storage cover that it comes in, is as good as trash. I say this because once you open this up, it takes WAY more effort and time than it should, to get the umbrella back in it's cover. I don't see this as a huge deal-breaker though as the rest of this product works great. Simply push the up arrow and the handle and "poof", your umbrella is open and ready to use. To close it, just push the down arrow and then procced to push from the top down to the handle to fully close it. That's it, nothing extra or fuss about it. The material seems to be of good quality and it's kept me dry going into work 2 days this past week. Overall, I'm happy with this and I would recommend it if you're in the market for a new umbrella.
