I bought it for my 4-year-old, and he actually looks forward to the rain now just so he can show off "his" umbrella. The size is absolutely perfect for the 3–6 age range. It’s large enough to actually keep him dry, but lightweight enough that he can carry it himself without it tipping him over. The best feature, by far, is the "safety-close" mechanism. I’m always worried about little fingers getting pinched in the metal sliders of regular umbrellas, but this one is designed to be super easy for small hands to open and shut safely. The handle is shaped like a little hook, which makes it easy for him to grip, and the colors are so bright and vibrant—it really stands out on a gloomy day. We’ve used it in a few windy rainstorms already, and it hasn't flipped inside out or felt flimsy. It’s surprisingly sturdy for a kid’s accessory! I got this umbrella for my two-year-old daughter, and it’s the perfect size for little kids around 2–3 years old. I also have a five-year-old daughter. And this umbrella is a bit small for a five-year-old. The colors are bright and fun, and the quality feels great. It opens manually and is super easy for me to open and close. Really cute but it broke pretty easily. Kindergarteners aren’t exactly gentle but this only lasted us about two school days before we had to start fixing the metal pieces and eventually just toss it.
