This is truly a wonderful umbrella; a full sized, sturdy umbrella that folds down to the size of a small portable. It is a bit heavier than a portable one, but you get so much more in return - it holds up in strong rain and wind and then folds up to be put out of the way. I purchased the black compact model. I have a few golf umbrellas but they don’t travel well. We travel a lot and I was always getting stuck with my wife’s floral print umbrellas. I was curious about the push button close function. so I overcame my superstition and opened it indoors. It worked smoothly through multiple cycles and closed easily. It appears quite sturdy and well built. I live near the US gulf coast Right now we’re enjoying almost daily pop up thunderstorms and hurricane season is right around the corner. We loved the umbrellas style and ease of use when we got it. The umbrella worked perfectly for more than a year and then would no longer open or close correctly. It comes with a lifetime warranty so I messaged the Tumella and they replied back quickly. (I work in the hospitality industry and I've learned that although problems happen it's how you fix the problem that matters.) Tumella immediately sent a replacement umbrella that works perfectly and looks even better (the original design was not available). They are rough on every thing, these might finally be the last umbrellas I have to purchase due to being abused!
