Works. Fits my Tacoma using existing bolts around factory cubbies on either side, plus 4 new holes drilled for hinge. Self-trapping screw when is easily. Overall easy to install. The space is reasonably useful. Wish the plastic was more substantial. Feels like a few seasons in the sun and this may become brittle. Lock will only keep honest people honest, a thief can easily pop this lock. Fact is, unless you add a small padlock to hinge, a their could lift the whole box off the hinge. But even then you have a small padlock between you and theft. Excellent if you need to store a few non-valuable items: straps, trailer connections, wipers etc. Not big enough for a cross wrench, not sturdy enough for a bottle jack. Although after installed there is a convenient space created between bed and box that can be used to lock the cross wrench in place. Looking for convenience, this is it. Looking for security, get a dog. Would recommend with these caveats. Feel like it is convenient but a little over-priced for what I got. the swing works but didn't need it. Would be happier with a fixed box that was made of tougher material. That's just me. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I read you couldn't install it on a 2019 or newer tacoma. It took me about 20min to install on mine. You have to do some measuring but anyone with some tool experience can get or done.

The instructions for this product are to remove screws from the drivers side storage cubby to install the latches. I have a 2021 TRD Sport and my truck has no driver's side cubby - I would have to eyeball the latch placement. Not the most difficult job, but since you're required to drill self tapping sheet metal screws into the bed of a brand new ~40k truck it's something you absolutely want to get right. There's no template included or anything else that might assist in lining this thing up, so keeping all that in mind I opted to just return it. ... show more

I rated it 3 stars because of all the wasted time. I wish companies would remember that nothing is more valuable to a person than their time. I had to buy it, open it and see that it did not fit my new 2019 Tacoma, despite the website description. There is an 'update' to the instruction sheet that is included, that say's it does work with 2019 Tacoma, but that is self evident when you open the package and see the contents anyway. 1. I knew what to expect, but they could put a little more effort into the sturdiness of these boxes for $200 a piece. I would never buy them again. The "lock" that's mean to keep them inside the truck literally just pops right off. After one winter the condensation even under a sealed bed with a tonneau cover, has made it very hard to pull the lever and release them to swing. They also do not swing out all the way, they go about 3 quarters of the way then stop. You cannot have them both swung out at the same time. No big deal on the last two things in my opinion. But they are not sealed very well and for the price, they should be more secure and sealed properly. Other than that, buy at your own risk, and know you are getting basically a $100 set for over $400. If you can fit a tool box, go that route instead. I didn't like the OEM option being way overpriced so I figured I'd try these. Whatever, they are in there now and if I sell the truck I have no desire to remove them and hope some poor soul is willing to pay what I'd ask. I just can't do it. ... show more

I have a 2017 Tacoma. I used a T-30 torx socket to remove/replace 3 existing bolts on the truck. I used an 11mm driver on a drill to attach the 4 self tapping screws. Follow instructions carefully on those. No do-overs. 20 minute install if you have the tools handy. In my 2017 Tacoma, I have the factory liner, tonneau cover, and a large bar mat to prevent things from sliding around on the hard plastic liner. This box fits just fine. The box comes off very easily if you need the space to haul something, although it stays out of the way for most anything I would carry. There is a key lock to prevent just anyone from popping it off. I received the passenger side for Christmas and ordered the driver’s side, too. I can now empty my backseat of hard hat, FRs, steel toed shoes, vest, PPE, etc. ... show more

I gave the product a 1star review because at the time of writing this the description and pictures show the wrong item. Unlike other swing cases the drives side one does not fit unless you have the drivers side storage box. Not all Tacomas come with this. This is cause it uses the factory bolts. The product cannot sit flush ( do to the shape of the standard bed) to allow for you to make you own holes. I have to return it. The box seems durable and the lock is ok. The product allows for most bed covers so the security doesnt need to be as good when used as intended. Over all good products but bad description. ... show more

Good solution for a toolbox without taking up bed length space. Instructions were straight forward. Installation went well. Went to youtube and looked at a number of installation videos before hand to get the general idea of the process. Using an impact driver to install the self tapping screws made the job easier. It uses a 7/16 socket. Four stars in that it's a clever design and it came with vehicle specific directions. It could be a bit larger for the $. The lock loop to prevent the unit from swinging out is a tight space. When putting a master like lock through the loop, it rubs against the flange that mates with the box so it will scratch that surface with repeated use. Will probably put a piece of electrical tape on that surface to prevent it from scratching. For a small bed pick-up it works for added tool storage. It is not a solution for power tools that are in their own boxes. Those will still need to be placed in the cab. All a matter of trade space - give up bed length for something larger, or keep the bed length for something smaller. ... show more
