This is the first actual yogurt maker I've ever owned. I was using mason jars placed in an Igloo cooler filled with warm water before getting this machine. This thing is so much easier and consistent. It's easy to program and the glass cups that come with it are the perfect portion. I especially like that the temperature and timer setting is fully adjustable. I've made at least 10 batches of yogurt in this machine with no bad batches. It seems well made and I'm more than happy with the price. It's easy to clean the base itself and cleaning the jars/cups is easy in the dishwasher. This is a really great yogurt maker that is very simple to use. I like that you can control the temperature precisely and set a very long timer. When you order, once you receive it there is an offer inside to make a social media post to get a second set of jars which is nice. When you just start making yogurt with it and be patient. I bought this to make the L. Reuteri yogurt, And I will be honest the first and second generation batches had this sort of strange feet smell. It was kind of cheesy and sort of odd smelling but I ate it anyway and made subsequent batches from it. The important thing to know is the batches improve in flavor and consistency relatively quickly. By the third or fourth batch the yogurt was nearly indistinguishable from store-bought yogurt quality. Now several batch generations into making it my entire family from my 6-year-old daughter to my wife and I really enjoy this yogurt daily. My recipe is 5 billion CFU L. Reuteri probiotic, 1-2 tablespoons of organic inulin powder (I used two tablespoons but later realized some people said it works better with one tablespoon.), and one quart of half-and-half (I mix it in a 4 cup measuring for easy pouring). For my second generation I used about two tablespoons of the first batch of yogurt, another two tablespoons of inulin powder (I contacted the company to ask about the second batch since I wasn't sure and they said I could either use the inulin or not so I decided to), and the 4 cups of half-and-half. But for generations 3 and all other subsequent generations I just used about two tablespoons of the previous yogurt batch with half-and-half and it has been coming out great! I would recommend this yogurt maker to anyone interested in making this yogurt because it seems like the right tool for the job. I have recommended this to family members as well. ... show more

This yogurt maker is a fantastic tool that is simple and highly precise. I love that it allows for exact temperature control and extended timer settings. A nice bonus is the offer included with purchase—if you share a social media post, you can receive a second set of jars. I just received my 8 small jars within 24 hours of submitting my claim. I'm highly impressed! I purchased this for making L. Reuteri yogurt. The first batch has an odd smell (stinky feet). However, the yogurt doesn't have much taste other than being rich and creamy. I ate my first batch with fresh strawberries and blueberries, and it was just like eating strawberries with thick cream—DELICIOUS! My next batch is currently underway. I initially had some trepidation about purchasing this yogurt maker, but all doubts were cast aside from the very first batch of yogurt! It was creamy and delicious. If you use half and half, the end result is super smooth, great mouthfeel and wonderful taste. After a couple of days, it sets up almost like cream cheese and is perfect for making cheesecakes and cheese pastry fillings.
