  • great teacher headset
Color: Black
I use it for online teaching. (vipteacher: Go Team Dino!) The audio is clear. Mic quality is excellent. My students say that my voice is clear. I can comfortably wear them for 7+ hours. One charge has lasted several shifts (I don't use the lights so I can't speak to that). I have never had a problem with connecting through the dongle. They're durable. It's helpful that they fold flat. They have survived several flights in my backpack. I've had very bad luck with headsets. I've burned through 1 every 6 months on average and never really found one that I truly liked. I will buy from this seller/manufacturer again. My only suggestion is that the buttons could be slightly more raised and easier to find which one I need. I put a few layers of painter's tape over the mute button to make it easier to find. Customer service is VERY professional and responsive: 2/8/25: The audio stopped working to the ears but the mic still works. I sent an email to customer service and they walked me through some troubleshooting. I ended up needing a replacement and I received it 2/13/25. ... show more

  • Kofire vs Gtheos Captain 300. Kofire wins for me.
Color: Black-Red
Overall, both are very good headsets for the price, and not a huge difference between them. But for roughly the same cost, the Kofire is the winner for me. Long-term (over 2 hours) wearing comfort might be an issue for some, but otherwise the Kofire edges out the Gtheos in most categories. For the price, the Kofire would be hard to beat. SOUND: both have deep, rich bass. Not too punchy. Gaming-wise they both sound very good, but the Kofire's slightly more pronounced highs give it a little more balanced sound, and makes it a bit easier to detect subtle noises. The Kofire is pretty good for music as well. The bass again is rich and full, but a little too overpowering. As a result, mid-range (vocals) and highs seem a tad weak. These would certainly be OK for casual music listening (or if you're into heavy bass), but I'd say not if you're an audiophile (which I'm not). WINNER: Kofire COMFORT: the Gtheos felt a smidgen more comfy. Both have soft ear cups with a leather-like covering over the foam, but the Gtheos' slightly bigger ear cups fit over my bigger ears a bit better. After a 2-hour test session with each, the Kofire left my ears feeling just a bit "cramped". Had to adjust the headband almost all the way out on both to fit my large head, but both worked fine. WINNER: Gtheos MIC: ran a self-test by firing up a 2-person private COD match on 2 different PCs. Listened to my voice over the speakers of the 2nd PC (the one not connected to the headset) while the game was running. Both had about a 1-second delay between when I spoke and when my voice came across the speakers. Even tho the Gtheos has a long, flexible arm that plugs in, and you can position it almost right in front of your mouth, my voice was slightly cleaner/crisper with the Kofire. The Kofire's arm is shorter and "rubbery", so it won't fully stay where you bend it, but apparently that's not necessary. And I really like how it just folds up into the ear cup (minus the included windscreen). No worries about losing it. Would be nice if it muted when folded up, but a button handles that easy enough. WINNER: Kofire OTHER: I don't have Bluetooth on my desktop, so can't speak for that, but the 2.5 GHz adapters worked perfect for both. Plugged them in, turned the headsets on, and both connected in seconds. A voice prompt for each tells you when it's powered on, when it connects, etc. The Kofire claims a 65-hour battery life vs the Gtheos' claimed 40, but haven't tested that. Both have buttons to turn the LED lighting effect on/off, but the Kofire remembers where you last left that setting. A nice touch. The Gtheos always turns the lighting on every time you power it on, even if you had it off when you last powered it off. Since that lighting (allegedly) eats up some of the battery life, it's a bit annoying to have to keep shutting it off if you're after max battery life, and/or don't care about the lighting effects. Both include a type-C charging cord but no charging "brick". The Kofire has a 32" cord, the Gtheos' is 47". The Kofire includes a 5' braided audio cord for direct, non-wireless connecting, the Gtheos has a 4' standard (non-braided) cord. WINNER: Kofire ... show more

  • Not an Enthusiasts headset but Excellent for the average person
Color: Black
Lets face reality, there are products for everyone, that's why there is so much variety in the market. In this review I will go through features, quality, function, value and who is this for, so lets dive in: Value: This head set is most certainly worth the price of admission. It uses one of 2 methods for connection, either a dongle which uses 2.4 ghz wireless signal and a Bluetooth 5 connection. Overall I think for this price range you can not go wrong. Connections: This device offers all the connections you could want. It comes with a standard headphone jack so you can plug it into anything that has a 3.5mm connection, Bluetooth 5 connection and a USB dongle the Dongle is touted to offer the fastest connection speed although I did not notice any delay's using any of the connection methods. I tested using 3 different devices, Alienware R5 laptop using both Dongle and BT, Steam Deck using all 3 connections in both windows and Linux, and the PS5 for BT and Dongle. I could not find any situation where this device did not work. Note: to switch between Dongle and BT turn the device on and click the power button 3 times quickly, you will be prompted with a voice saying Bluetooth mode or Dongle. Comfort: I found these to be very comfortable, the pads are soft and confirm well, the cups seem to be deep enough to prevent my ears from hitting the grill of the speaker and the band at that goes over my head has a nice soft pad. This last one is usually where I find discomfort on long gaming session. I will say my ears did sweat bit while wearing these, but I have this with head sets costing 3-4 times this. Sony Pulse I am talking to you. But all in all comfort is very good. Build Quality: these seem to be built to last, they may not be bomb proof, but they are very sturdy. The buttons have a solid clicking feeling when depressed and the over all material quality is on pair to above avaerage for this price range. The RGB works, but is simply a rotating color. It does take some battery life so I tend to leave it off. If I had one preference it would be the shiny cups show finger prints as soon as you go near them. But this is a preference and it does look quite good. The Mic folds away and has a little RGB tip. Sound Quality: For the average person the sound quality is very good, expecially at on bass. I ran a test and was able to hear down to 15 Hz, I do know it was producing vibrations below this as I could feel it but it was below my hearing range. For the higher tones I will say the come up a little short capping out around 15-16KHz. In normal gaming and general usage cases this is not really noticable, but a purest/enthusiast will notice. Over all in this price category, I find the highs to be exaggerated and lows to be missing, so it's welcome that these are so evenly balanced. I accredit that to the huges 50mm drivers in each ear cup. To be honest the highs likely could be supplimented with a tiny piezo tweeter. The mic works well, it cuts down background noise but doesn't really eliminate it as well as the audio quality is good, voices seem to sound natural and not digitized or off putting. Overall while I would not recommend it for professional recording studios it will more than suffice for the gaming and general comminications. Controls: Volume is handled but a simple wheel, I can not tell you how much I missed that on other headsets. For so long we have gotten these clicking volumes where you want between to be at 4.375 or 4.5 and the button gives you 4 or 5 and no more. This is awesome and I am thankful for this simple often overlooked feature. Wait there is more, when connected to an mp3 player (or phone as you kids today use :P) the power button is play pause, then there is a skip ahead and back all on the right ear cup. On the left is a button to mute the mic, turn the RGB on/off and the glorious volume wheel (can you tell I really like the wheel for volume control). All the buttons work, they give tactile feedback and are ealisy located. Overall: I think this headset offers an excellent bang for buck option for the average user, which is who this is targeted at, the price point puts in in the bottom range where you would expect lower build quality and lower feature sets. But this headset surprises with much more than expected. As I said before this is targeted at the gaming market but would be good for anyone who is looking for a nice universal headset that has good bass response and acceptable highs. Overall I am satisfied with this product. ... show more
