  • What a WASTE of TIME
Style: Switch
Key takeaway: this (Ubiquiti US-24) is a time sink - wasted HOURS on Tech Chat Support to no avail. Worst part is Chat Support takes a VERY long time to connect and then for the "experts" drop the chat sending you back to the bottom of the queue to start this frustrating process all over again. POOR Customer Service making me think I'm not the only one experiencing issues if it takes that long to reach someone. The problem I was trying to solve? Getting the Ubiquiti Controller to recognize (find) the US-24 port switch. Should be automatic, right? Apparently not. Even when controller directly connected to the switch. First time connected with Chat spent 30 minutes updating firmware. An hour later, nope, that didn't work. Next 3-4 times started all over and made no progress, disabling all firewalls, virus security, etc. Very painful and 8+ hours I'll never get back. I have a very simple home network with Google Mesh WiFi router. This switch should be a slam dunk for it to recognize, but apparently it's not. Good luck if you can make it work. This one is going back... ... show more

  • Ubiquiti is what you want for reliable networking!
Style: Switch
I have two of the 8 port switches, 2 24 port ones, USG pro, and 2 AP Pros too so I'm invested into Ubiquiti Unifi products. I used to have Netgear Nighthawk, Netgear Mesh, and Modem too. I'm sure it was partly Comcast's fault, but Netgear didn't help either. Switched internet companies and also switched to an Edge router and then finally all in with Unifi. Always rebooting with the Netgear products. Now I have been up for months without any downtime except to upgrade the firmware on occasion (Which I can do remotely when I'm not home!). SUPER RELIABLE!!! GREAT SPEEDS! My home network is basically a small business with over 40+ clients and Ubiquiti products don't blink. I like to play some with my tech, but I also want it to just work these do that job! ... show more

  • Perfect for the Unifi Ecosystem
Style: Switch
I have been going down the path of upgrading my home network for the past year. This was one of the bigger pieces to my home network puzzle that I had been trying to purchase. The price point is high, but it is a great device. I've now got the Unifi Switch managed by the Unifi CloudKey with a Unifi Security Gateway and Unifi AP Pro. If you want good, reliable, and decent priced gear for your home, this seems to be the best bang for your buck without going down the Enterprise level rabbit hole. I gave the switch 3 stars for Easy to Use because the amount of features the Unifi ecosystem has. The device is plug and play, but to get the full use of the device you need to have a good understanding of networking. ... show more

  • If you need a network switch this is it!
Style: Switch
This fit perfectly in my little networking rack I bought for the basement. After installing the software on a raspberry pi to update it and run the switch havent had to touch it since I installed it 2 months ago. I found out quickly the difference between a smart switch like this and a cheap dumb unmanaged dumb switch. Needless to say get the smart switch! This switch protects itself from socket storms or network collisions and keeps the network humming unlike dumb switches. ... show more

  • Works great. Does/can do way more than I need it to.
Style: Switch
I’m kind of a noob. I knew some practical knowledge about the bones of a network. I got other UniFi products to go with the switch. As of now I’ve connected about 20 of the 24 ports. Green led stays lit when the connection is live. That Helped out when making sure I connected the cat cables correctly. I had 1 that was wrong and it helped speed up process in fixing it. I have standard 24 port patch panel. I thought I may run into a issue with the length of the far left of my panel reaching the outlets since the sit on the right side of the of the device. My 1ft patch cables work fine. ... show more

  • Great first large switch
Style: Switch
This is a great first large switch. it's just you need to remember this is an L2 switch not L3 and the SFP ports are 1gb not 10gb but honestly if you are trying to set up a 10gb connection most likely you would have already known what to look for. I don't have anything that would require that kind of speed at the moment so I'm good I just wanted to be able to setup my new house with network connections in each room and this was the fastest way to do so. I do plan on eventually upgrading with a second switch that supports POE but since most of what I'll be doing doesn't require that at the moment and anything POE I have injectors for already, I was able to save some money and get started with this model. I was able to integrate this switch nicely into the unifi controller and it updated the firmware right away for me! I plan on building out my home network with more unifi equipment once I'm ready! ... show more

  • Great product!

I started off with the 8 port switch. I quickly out grew it and decided it was time to upgrade. What is the quickest way to out grow these switches? 802.3ad. <3
