    • Tons of storage and flexibility
Great! must have if adding more then 8 4g cameras. Easy setup and not one glitch. Dropped in the 8tb drives purchased separately. Chose how I wanted drives arranged and started adopting cameras. FYI this is only unifi protect not used for any other unifi systems.

    • Great NVR
After running Unifi Video on my desktop, then having the remote viewing discontinued while not on the network, I decided it was time to upgrade to run UniFi Protect. I decided to go with this over the cloud key gen2 plus to have more storage space for more cameras. I'm currently running 9 cameras, all the G3 line, so nothing 4k yet. I installed 2 8TB seagate ironwolf hd's and that gives me quite a bit of storage for now. Once I start adding some 4k cameras, I'll probably throw a couple more 8TB hard drives in it. ... show more

    • Very OLD firmware .. update fails
Unit arrived with ancient firmware which failed to update. Had to ssh in and force the update. Way harder than it should have been. Not sure why ubiquiti is shipping such old stock as “new”

Device not powering up after running for just around two days. We're powering the unit using an UPS, along with other network devices including a few switches, routers, etc. Just installed the unit on last Friday and saw its power LED lit up, but not configured as soon as possible because our network hadn't been ready then. Today (Monday) I found the unit completely powered off, no lights, fans not running, no any noise came out. Replacing the power cord and power outlet doesn't help. This is really frustrating! ... show more

    • Cheap Plastic HDD Trays.
The hot swap HDD caddy’s are not wells designed. one bay came broken but I was able to disassemble and rework the plastic a bit to get the latch to work. The software is great and the unit works great as an NVR.
