Great! must have if adding more then 8 4g cameras. Easy setup and not one glitch. Dropped in the 8tb drives purchased separately. Chose how I wanted drives arranged and started adopting cameras. FYI this is only unifi protect not used for any other unifi systems.

    • Most confusing product ever
Product grade: New
Most difficult product ever! I worked for the past 30 years programming devices and writing high level code and this product is extremely confusing and the UI has flaws. First - setting up was a bitch and needed to be put on-line to update and no where does a message come up about this. Second, the UI is unstable and right now, I'm fighting the problem of how to download multiple files. It downloads one clip fine, but after selecting multiple selections, it sometimes works. The cameras where easy to setup and are high quality, but between setup being extremely confusing and the UI having lots of downloading errors, this product is not fully baked. ... show more

After running Unifi Video on my desktop, then having the remote viewing discontinued while not on the network, I decided it was time to upgrade to run UniFi Protect. I decided to go with this over the cloud key gen2 plus to have more storage space for more cameras. I'm currently running 9 cameras, all the G3 line, so nothing 4k yet. I installed 2 8TB seagate ironwolf hd's and that gives me quite a bit of storage for now. Once I start adding some 4k cameras, I'll probably throw a couple more 8TB hard drives in it. ... show more

    • Very OLD firmware .. update fails
Product grade: New
Unit arrived with ancient firmware which failed to update. Had to ssh in and force the update. Way harder than it should have been. Not sure why ubiquiti is shipping such old stock as “new”

    • Cheap Plastic HDD Trays.
Product grade: New
The hot swap HDD caddy’s are not wells designed. one bay came broken but I was able to disassemble and rework the plastic a bit to get the latch to work. The software is great and the unit works great as an NVR.
