I am very happy with my purchase. The switch arrived in perfect condition and sooner than I expected. The seller was very pleasant to work with.

  • Awesome POE Switch
Style: Switch
I use this as the base switch for my entire home network - cameras, POE phones, POE AP's, wireless, wired connections etc. Love the hardware, love the reliability, low noise and the Unifi management console is outstanding.

  • Very disappointing, overheating issues, etc.
Style: Switch
I waited for a while for this to be released and decided to purchase in May 2019 (I figured the early bugs would be worked out by now). Wrong. The first one I ordered reported overheating after a week of using it. Installed in a rack with plenty of ventilation, etc. Looking closer in the shell (swctrl env show), the PSU temp would sometimes hit 127C, but usually hung between 81C and 90+ C. I never had any issues where it rebooted, but again the controller and the display on the switch reported it overheating. I ordered a second unit from Amazon figured I had just one bad unit. The second unit I received happily shows 50C without overheating, BUT, don't believe it!! Again, running "swctrl env show", the PSU showed a temp of -128C which is impossible, so the sensor is obviously bad and who knows what temp is really was operating at. I tried to contact support but quickly gave up with them when the asked silly questions like, are the power cables firmly attached. Please...give me a break. I like the UniFi Wifi line, but the UniFi switches are too immature. If you search online, you'll see other examples of their switches overheating. I'm returning both and going with another Netgear switch which I know will work as I've had them in production for the past 10+ years without any drama. I really wanted to like the UniFi switch but it's a train wreck...don't bother, go with something reliable. ... show more

  • First Time Ubiquiti UniFi User - Works Great
Style: Switch
At the time of this review, this unit is sold out everywhere online. I purchased it from Ubiquiti directly. The switch is currently running approximately half of the intended load (only the top row of ports). The controller is a UDM-PRO. 6 G3 Flex 8 G4 Bullet 4 G4 Pro 2 AP HD 3 AP nanoHD 1x Synology with 4 port link aggregation 2x old Shuttle PCs acting as NAS / Plex Server units. The temps are typically 15 degrees C higher than the UDM Pro in SoCal summer. My previous setup was a Netgear Nighthawk X10 with Google Nest and before that, a ASUS RT-N66U running DD-WRT back in 2012. Honestly going UniFi has been way easier to setup and use for a layman like me. Very slick GUI interface. Haven't had to do anything CLI yet. So far so good. I'll update if any issues. Note: I am extra glad I got the 48 port--I originally intended the Synology to connect to the UDM-PRO, but it didn't support link aggregation and those 8 ports on the UDM-PRO share the same 1gb link. Bummer. ... show more

  • Excellent managed PoE++ / PoE+ switch
Style: Switch
48 gigabit ethernet ports, 4 10 gigabit SFP+ ports. 8 PoE++ ports and the other 40 are PoE+ ports. Unifi's controller software is excellent for managing the switch, PoE works perfectly. We have several downstream PoE powered switches, seven access points, and several security cameras and the switch is totally silent and powers them without issue. Unlike the Gen1 Unifi switches, these Gen2 switches are silent even under high load. If you need a big PoE switch for your ethernet deployment, this is a good choice. If you're already running Unifi gear and are adding this to an existing controller, it's a great choice. ... show more
