  • Amazing speaker especially if you get 2 for the full stereo. Expensive but worth it.
Color: White with Tripod
Its expensive lets start with that. I usually dont give 5 stars review to items that are too expensive but in this case I make an exception because this is a very high quality speaker and pairing 2 of them for stereo sound makes it amazing the sound stage is great the stereo separation is great and sound quality in very very good. ... show more

  • A Speaker That Punches Above Its Weight
Color: White with Tripod
I was skeptical at first, thinking a compact speaker couldn’t deliver great sound, but the UB+ DB1 really surprised me. The bass is deep and the sound is well-balanced, which I didn’t expect from such a device. It’s perfect for my office and even works well when I bring it to friends’ homes for casual parties. The design is sleek and modern, and it’s super easy to use. I love that I can take it everywhere without worrying about it getting damaged. If you’re looking for a portable speaker that still delivers impressive sound, this is a great choice. ... show more

  • !!!Better than you think!!! !!!Better than you think!!!
Color: White with Tripod
I've been following this brand since they've started on Kickstarter. Of course I am hesitant on buying a new product that hasn't been out long enough to gain any reviews. After a couple years I decided to purchase the best one they had to offer. Right off the bat the presentation when unboxing was similar to most speakers in its category. Everything was organized and easy to unwrap. The speaker States it has an aluminum cabinet however it is plastic but that wasn't a huge deal. It's still extremely solid and durable with a really nice gloss to it. Powering on and functionality was pretty straightforward and connecting to the app was fairly easy. This company is still new so I don't expect everything to be perfect however the first sound test was very impressive and met my expectations. The included stand is aluminum and very sturdy yet lightweight and easy to build. Placing it throughout my house in different areas didn't really affect the sound other than of course corners bringing out more Bass. It performs well in medium sized rooms. It does get fairly loud and more than enough to even be used outside for a barbecue or camping. I really like the fact that their main focus was not all about pure sound quality over output. It was very well balanced with the option to adjust EQ settings from bass, mids, and treble. This comes in play when playing songs that are a little more bass heavy. The speaker having the EQ flat plays everything perfect even at high volumes. Boosting the bass and mids more than 25% over flat starts to show very light distortion when over 75% volume. The reason for that is this company is doing more than the average speaker in its category by allowing it to play deeper notes and more full sound. For its size it performs well but you can't expect more especially with the small cone area on the woofer. The passive radiators definitely help but can only do so much. Most speakers in its size may be able to play max volume with Max Bass however you do lose low end and you'll notice more treble being boosted. Having the EQ definitely allows for it to be used at max volume with little to no distortion by just making fine adjustments and leaving it be for any style of music. Battery life on mine has been great but I have noticed other reviews stating the battery life isn't as mentioned in the specifications. All companies have duds and being as new as they are this company may have more than others but that doesn't mean the speaker is bad. I personally would recommend taking a chance because you will be impressed and it's very unique so it's a great conversation piece. I gave the speaker four stars due to the battery situation but everything else deserves five. I have owned 400+ different Bluetooth speakers, have done reviews and this one is in my top 10 for the $200.00 price point. ... show more

  • Great Sound for the price!!! Great Sound for the price!!!
Color: White with Tripod
I’ve tried quite a few portable speakers, and the UB+ DB1 completely exceeded my expectations. The sound is incredibly rich and clear for something that's portable —especially the bass, which really surprised me! I’ve used it for work, playing music while I cook, and even taking it outside for a quick party with friends. The battery lasts a long time, and it charges fairly quickly. I’ve dropped it a couple of times (accidentally, of course) and it still works perfectly. Definitely worth the investment! ... show more

  • A suprisingly good looking and functioning speaker. Great value. A suprisingly good looking and functioning speaker. Great value.
Color: White with Tripod
This is a really cool and well-designed speaker. I was able to set it up quickly; connecting to my phone was easy; the sound clarity and volume were good; and the optional app added a few nice features, such as setting Bass, Mid, and Treble levels. See my photos for more context on my comments. When I opened the outer box, the stand and speaker each had their own box. The packaging of each was both protective and reflective of the clear thought that went into each stage of this speaker's setup and use. Setup was super easy. It was easy to connect the high-quality aluminum base poles (three per leg). Each leg screws into a surprisingly simple but elegant and functional base. The speaker then sits on the base, held in place by a surprisingly strong magnet. While the magnet's strength is more than sufficient to hold the speaker securely to the base, it is still easy to separate the two. Note that you can't adjust the length of each leg of the stand. Not expected or needed, but just an FYI. The speaker itself is very well-designed, and the sound is surprisingly good. 1. Most importantly (just kidding), it just looks cool. Kudos to the design team for coming out with something this cool in a very crowded category. 2. The design is fairly intuitive. Without looking at the instructions, it was easy to figure out that you can turn it on and off by pressing and releasing the circle button at the top of the speaker. Rotating it to the right or left controls the volume, and the light blue ring around the knob flashes red when you've reached either max or min volume -- nice. 3. The sound is surprisingly good. The treble is focused toward the front, with the bass out of the sides (as you would expect). Even without using the app, sitting in a chair 10 feet or so away, I could feel the bass through the floor. I don't want to mis-set any expectations, as this isn't a huge speaker (in size or watts), and it isn't going to rock your world. That said, it will fill a 300- or so-square-foot room, and you will likely be very surprised by the sound quality and bass depth. It pumps out a lot of sounds with very little distortion. 4. I like that the USB-C charging port has a dust/water cover. That port is not only for charging; you can also insert a USB stick with the specific songs you want to play, without having to keep your phone connected to the speaker. 5. The handle looks good and makes it very easy to move around. I do wish there were an included bag to hold/protect the main speaker and its stand (disassembled, of course). I'm guessing a future version will include this. The app is useful and a worthwhile download. With it, I can check for any firmware updates, see the current battery level, choose one of the six sound preset profiles (jazz, pop, live, etc.), or create and save my own. There is also a page for matrixing multiple speakers together. I did notice an earlier review (from a year ago at the time of this writing) saying the person had connectivity issues. I'm assuming those issues have been addressed, as I had no issues. The app is intuitive, choosing to provide just a few key additional features and presenting those well. I also really liked that the app only asked for Bluetooth access. I've had other apps that wanted access to my camera and other features -- even though they didn't need it for anything other than capturing personal info. Not confidence-inspiring for privacy. Not this app. I didn't fully test battery life, but with volume at about 7 and listening for a while, I expect it will deliver on the 20-hour playtime. That said, this can vary significantly depending on volume, the type of music, and even how hot it is outside (true of any battery-driven device). All in all, for a roughly $300 speaker, I expect quality, ease of use, and flexibility, and this speaker delivered—definitely a good value. ... show more

  • Impressive bass performance, but tripod stand disappointing. No carrying case. Impressive bass performance, but tripod stand disappointing. No carrying case.

2026-05-12. UB+ db1 doubleBASS speaker by UB+. Waterproof. Bluetooth. 40W. Hi-Fi sound. Deep Bass. 20H playtime. IPX5. TWS pairing. Model: db1 with Tripod Color: White I actually have a lot to say about this speaker, so my biggest challenge will be keeping this review short. In the interest of all readers, I'll be providing my overall summary first, followed by categorial summaries and more in-depth commentary. Overall, this speaker is definitely geared towards bass lovers making it ideal for those who love Reggae, DUB, or funk, as well as electronic styles like Drum and Bass, Dubstep, and Trap; any genre really where the bass is usually dominant in the mix, prioritizing low-frequency energy over high-frequency instruments. The low-end performance is quite rich and powerful with little to no distortion. The spherical design isn't just aesthetics, it's engineered to reduce standing waves and enhance acoustic performance. The unit advertises to employ the latest Bluetooth® 5.4 and connectivity was easy and instant. The TWS (True Wireless Stereo) multipoint pairing, stereo linking, and support for analog input and USB playback make it versatile for home or outdoor use. And the IPX5 waterproof rating and 20‑hour battery life further boost portability. While the UB+ SEEK app enables EQ adjustments, they're limited beyond some basic tuning and lack any depth for users who want more precise sound shaping. The included user manual is fine for single unit experience, but could be better for those who do double their investment and invest in the multipoint, multi-speaker set-up. The tri-pod is a weak point in my opinion. The tripod materials are sturdy, but the fixed 3-piece lengths offers no continuous height adjustment to accommodate uneven surfaces. The maximum height of about 24-inches takes a lot away from the sound output in my opinion and you can hear a noticeable difference in sound quality sitting down vs standing up. Furthermore, the magnetic mount leaves the unit open to being knocked off, so be sure to keep it protected from crowds. The magnet itself is strong and when properly mounted, a vertical lift of the speaker will pick up the tripod with it! However, horizontal movement requires less force to knock the unit off the magnetic mount making it more prone to it being separated from the tripod. Weighing at just over 6lbs, the unit is highly portable; however, it does not come with a storage or protective case of any kind for use during transport. The unit isn't exactly cheap retailing for $300, and is priced to deliver more than it's capable of in my opinion. Since just about all of my notable improvements don't really impact the speakers performance, they carry zero weight against my rating of this unit. The one-star deduction is primarily from the units focus on low end frequencies with no capability of balancing it out for other genres of music, even with the app. If you're interested in more details or insights read on... but before I begin, the listing header has quite a few acronyms, so I'll get them out of the way first... 40W (40 Watts). This is just telling you how much power the amplifier consumes to produce sound. Historically, a speaker's sound output has been correlated to the amount of power it consumes. Naturally, a more powerful speaker would require more power to operate. This is actually a misnomer; a speakers ability to produce sound is based on the speaker's sensitivity (Sound Pressure Level or SPL rating) and amplification that will determine how loud that sound is. In other words, a 7W speaker can produce more sound than an 8W speaker depending on the SPL of the speaker. Loudness is measured in decibels, and is independent of sound quality. The two often have an inverse relationship, that is, loudness often comes at the cost of sound quality. The best way to judge speakers is to hear them. Everyone has their own sensitivities to sound, if you can, try to demo a speaker at a brick and mortar store before making your purchase. If it sounds good to you, then that's all that matters. Hi-Fi. This stands for High Fidelity and refers to high-quality audio reproduction that minimizes noise and distortion, aiming to sound as close to the original recording as possible. The important note here is that this speaker is "capable" of reproducing Hi-Fi sound, it won't improve it in any way. This means that your source needs to be of the same high quality audio, otherwise, the sound will only be as good as your weakest link. Speaking of weakest links, at this time, I'd also like to note that in my video, the music I tested was streamed from YouTube connected via Bluetooth® via an iPhone 16. It was recorded on a Samsung Galaxy S24, so that is the source of what you will he hearing from my video. This info would be in addition to factoring in the speaker system you have when listening to the video. IPX5. IP stands for Ingress Protection and an IP rating is standardized and officially given to a product that undergoes special testing by a certified, independent company. An IP rating consists of four positions. The first two is simply IP and is followed by two numeric digits. The first digit (3rd position) ranges from 0-6 and represents protection from solids. The 2nd digit (4th position) ranges from 0-9 and represents how well it's protected from water. The ratings are as follows: 3-position: Protection from solids (0-6) 0: The product is not protected against any physical contact or objects. 1: Only protected from objects larger than 50 mm. You won’t accidentally stick your hand into this product, but you can still easily get, say, your finger in. 2: Protected from any object larger than 12.5 mm. This now includes fingers. 3: Protected from things above 2.5 mm, which includes most tools and thick wires. 4: Protected from anything bigger than 1 mm. 5: Dust resistant. Some dust may get through, but it won’t be enough to damage the product. 6: This product is fully dust tight. 4th position: Protection from Water (0-9) 0: The product offers no protection from water. 1: Can resist water that drips vertically onto the product. 2: Can resist water that hits the product at a 15° angle or less. 3: Can take water sprays of up to 60°. 4: Is resistant to water splashes from any direction. 5: Can resist a sustained, low-pressure water jet spray. 6: Can resist high-pressure, heavy sprays of water. 7: Can be submerged up to 1 meter in water for 30 minutes. 8: Can be submerged deeper than 1 meter. The exact depth is specified by the manufacturer. In a nutshell IPX5 equates to ingress protection from solids were not tested (value is "X), and a waterproof rating of 5 means the unit can withstand a sustained, low-pressure water jet spray. This is what they mean by waterproof in the heading. It's not fully waterproof (i.e. it cannot be submersed in water), but it's highly water resistant making it versatile enough to be used outside even in mildly inclement weather. TWS. This stands for True Wireless Stereo. The key word here being STEREO. This is the ability to have multiple input channels, which can mimic how the human ears perceive sound. Picture a guitar playing on your left and drums playing on your right. You ears would pick up both instruments, but you can hear the source of the sounds. Similarly, picture a plane flying over your head, you hear it approach you, then you hear it pass you. That is stereo sound and that is what this speaker is capable of. Again, the operative word is "capable". For you to experience multiple channels or TWS, you will need TWO units as well as a source that is recorded in Stereo. From an aesthetics perspective, the speaker is quite pleasing. The inner casing is made of anodized aluminum; however, the gloss white polycarbonate outer gives it a much cheaper look. The unit is super easy to use and all the controls are in one place at the top of the unit. The unit is completely portable and the internal battery is charged via USB-C port on the back side of the unit. A 5-foot USB-A to USB-C cable is included. The USB-C port is capable of handling both power as well as data inputs adding versatility to the unit. This allows you to attach a thumb drive preloaded with music that can be read and played back, ideal for places where there is no signal. The unit boasts a 20-hour playback. Working backwards (you'll just need to trust me on the math here), I concluded that the unit has 10,000mAh batter (@3.7V) or a usable battery of approx. 7400mAh (@5V) based on a recharge time of about 4 hours @ 12W-18W. The wattage fluctuated, but that's normal, and rates of up to 18W is considered fast charging speeds. This speaker boasts deep bass capability in the form of TWO 90mm woofers and 113mm passive radiators. Side FYI note: The passive radiators (aka drone cones) are just the round pieces on the sides of the units. They appear to be floating and sit directly in front of the woofers. Since they're passive, they lack a magnet or voice coil, so they do not receive direct electrical power. They work by using the internal air pressure generated from an active driver to produce deeper, louder bass without requiring a larger enclosure or more amplifier power. To test the "doubleBASS" of the dB1, I decided to play Limit To Your Love by James Blake. I don't know how it will come out in the video, but the extreme deep sub-bass will test the limits of the best speakers and punish those that are weaker. Have a listen for yourself and you tell me if you can "feel" the bass rather than just hear it. I won't give my opinion here because, as I noted earlier, if it sounds good to you, then it's all that matters. The human voice spectrum ranges from 20Hz to 20,000Hz and this unit has an effective range of 40Hz to 20,000Hz. UB+ also has a proprietary app called SEEK, but sadly, it doesn't little beyond tuning of basic EQ adjustments, leaving those that seek more precise sound shaping without a solution. The user manual covers all the basics of connectivity and functional controls, but lacks coverage with the TWS and stereo experience (note: the SEEK app does cover device management and multi-speaker setups.) In addition to the TWS functionality, the dB1 takes multi-speaker setup to another level with what they refer to as MATRIX mode. In this mode, you can pair more than two speakers. So if you really like the speaker and are willing to invest in it at $300 apiece, you can! The problem with matrix mode is that it is not TWS. In Matrix mode, you have a primary speaker and all the rest are "slave" speakers that may be subject to lag or latency if place far apart. I'm also assuming that Matrix pairing is via Bluetooth® which means that distance from one another will also be limited to a 30-foot radius from the master speaker. The tripod is one of the weaker features of this unit. It's your basic three piece construction that offer zero room for adjustability and you're confined to essentially three heights in 21cm (8-inch) increments. The worst part is that you will need an even surface for maximum stability. A single piece telescoping 3-section design would have easily made this tripod 100 times improved without any additional bulk. The magnetic mount at the top of this tripod makes it even more important that the tripod be level to ensure maximum stability of the speaker. The flat magnetic mount also provides no support for the speaker and makes it subject to being easily knocked off if not properly protected. The fixed maximum height of 63cm (24-inches) of the tripod sets the top of the speaker at a maximum height closer to 35-inches off the ground which is not ideal in most communal room settings unless you're sitting down. The built in carrying strap combined with the units 2.4kg (6.1lbs) weight makes this unit highly portable. Unfortunately, the unit doesn't come with a carrying case of any kind to protect it while in transport. The unit as well as the tripod both come in a retail box, making them suitable for gifting. ... show more

The 90 mm woofer provides excellent bass and clarity whether listening to jazz, hip hop or anything in-between. The plastic housing is durable with an excellent finish that is easy to clean. The grille, leather strap and stand are stylish and work great with modern decor. The speaker is portable and easily removed from the stand. It can be placed anywhere and provides loud and clear music at all volumes. The Bluetooth connects quickly to electronic devices and is easy to use with basic volume functions. There is also an app that provides updates for the speaker firmware and allows for more customizable audio settings. Battery life is excellent and it works all day without charging. The speaker also functions while plugged in. It is priced similarly to other high end speakers. ... show more
