Upon using this a couple times, the top seemed to lock on after inserting chlorine. But on the third day I found I had a white spot burned into my pool liner and the top was missing. Because it fell off when I tossed it in the pool. And the chlorine tab sat on the liner. Happened twice before I looked and found that you can just remove the top after you close it completely. I purchased this to reduce the amount of thing’s floating around the pool. As soon as I opened it and pulled it out of the box, the top popped off and it fell to the ground and cracked. My fault, but it didn’t fall far and fell on the grass. I superglued it back together and it worked fine.
