Seems like most people installed this on the passenger side. I installed mine on driver side. Just seemed easier than trying to have enough clearance on my TJ. the tailgate hinges seem like they would be in the way, had i mounted this on passenger side. Used on a 2003 Jeep TJ. Good fit with no issues mounting the bracket. The hole is setup for a CB antenna base and was not a great fit for the amateur radio antenna application. I had to add a stainless steel washer to help add a little more surface area to the fit but all in all it appears to be a good solution to our antenna placement on the Jeep with an approximately 35" dual band (2m/70cm) antenna. ... show more
