Great little winch. Used to pull a large boat lift out of the water with no problem. Had a small problem with the product which was taken care of by the company in a timely manner. Great people to work with!

  • Nice winch for my 4 wheeler, with a couple of caveats
Material Type: 2500 lb Synthetic Rope
Everything about this winch should work great for you unless you need a special mounting plate for your vehicle. I have a Polaris Sportsman 570 and the mounting plates I found all had 3” hole spacing for mounting the winch itself and this winch has 3.15” spacing. Also the fairlead that comes with the winch absolutely won’t fit a standard plate, so I ordered a new one that would. Bottom line, I like the winch very much but it wasn’t a straight forward install for my application. ... show more

  • For the Price this seems like a solid little winch - 3500 LB Version
Material Type: 3500 lb Synthetic Rope
1/11/23 Update Winch has performed Flawlessly. Pulling reasonable sized logs out of the woods as well as pulling uprooted trees that have fallen into other trees. Get some snatch blocks to significantly improve this winches' performance. For portability, performance an the price. I am very pleased. Winch arrived on Time (5/27/22 2 Day Prime) and packaging was in good shape. Good Job Amazon & UPS. Inside the box you will find a 2 piece Styrofoam mold that protects all the parts. For me, everything expected was in the package. aka No missing Parts. As some have noted in so many words, the instructions leave a lot to be desired. If you are at all handy, this will not be an issue. The primary wires from the winch to the control box (Yellow & Blue). The Winch has two posts these go to are clearly marked with an appropriate Yellow or Blue washer on the respective posts. The (Red & Black) Battery + / - terminals seem to be good quality and the full circle terminal connectors appear well crimped. Since this is primarily designed for an ATV, the terminal rings will NOT fit over a standard 7/16 battery bolt. Not a big issue, buy a terminal adapter, drill out the terminal rings just a bit, or replace them with size needed. I plan to use this in a "Portable" situation so will be hooking it to a full standard Deep Cycle Battery. As with any wiring, before you "hit" the In or Out Button, make sure ALL wiring connections are tight. This little thing is pulling some decent AMPs even under no load (10 AMPs on the low end and 145 on the high end, Per the Manual) and any loose connection is going to get your attention quickly with a Spark & a Pop as it pulls in the power! The only 2 less than positive comments would be the "Signal" wires from the control box to the wired remote switch have some sorta "sketchy" connectors are on the thin blue and black wires with an awkward shielding at the wire connector that could easily slide around and possibly allow these two wires to touch since the connectors are at the same point in each wire. My fix was to wrap them in some same color 3M Vinyl tape for now. Easy enough to remove if needed The connectors appear to be there in case you needed to ever replace the switch which is entirely possible. The other thin wire (Red) from the wired control switch to the Positive side of the battery has no terminal on it and if it is just wrapped around a post and a nut tightened down, the wires will break off. For this I simply crimped on a 7/16 ring Terminal and some heat shrink. I first wanted to bench test and verify that everything was working. I set the winch to Free Spool via the knob on the side and pulled out a few feet of line. Free spooling worked fine. I then set the knob back to engage the gears. I then held the line with slight tension as I "In" on the wired remote. Be ready for an possible "Audible" Clunk when you do this if you had free spooled some line as the internals re-engaged. It only did this after the "free spooling". Winch was very responsive and both started and stopped with no issues. I then picked up one of the remotes. I had seem some reviews that stated the remote did not come with batteries. In my case they both did (already installed) You first push the red button to turn the remote on, then press the In or Out Button. Although I was just inches away on the benchtop, the remote was very responsive both starting and stopping as a button was pushed or released. The second remote also performed as expected. Overall, bench test was a success. Few Final Thoughts: When I purchased this unit it was roughly $140 and first impression, I am pleased with my purchase. Like any winch, it has its limitations and if pushed will possibly fail. Using the winch motor I unspooled the line till there were only about 4 wraps remaining on the spool. I would stop every 30 seconds or so to see if the winch was getting hot, No issues at all. While I had it unwound I placed some red vinyl tape at about 12 inches from the spool on the line and a yellow piece about another 24 inches away. This will allow me a visual clue that I am about to run out of line or I can tell someone I am working with NOT to let us go past the yellow / Red etc. As I put some light tension on the line and rolled it back in, I kept my had on the motor and it stayed cool. Now keep in mind, there was NO LOAD on the line except my slight back pressure. So with a Load on the line as with any winch, you need to consider the motor getting hot and not run it continuously under load. The manual does make mention of this. Have no idea if at this Price the Winch has any internal sensor that would shut it down if it got too hot. There is no type of reset switch on the winch or the control box. As of now I will leave my Review at 4 Stars based on the few minor wiring observations noted above. In the days ahead as I start putting this unit to the Test, if it performs as needed will likely up the rating to 5 stars, Yet if it fails, the rating could drop down. My current needs will cone no where close to what the manufacture says it is capable of. Final note on the Manufacture: The winch comes with a 2 Year warranty, yes any warranty is only as good as the support behind it, yet the fact they are willing to offer 2 years is not too bad in this day and age. Also on the few occasions I have needed to a manufacture via the Amazon Process, it has always been relatively simple and the manufactures responsive. Hope this review helps someone thinking about with purchasing this product. C.W. Charlotte NC Area ... show more

  • Complete waste of money.
Material Type: 2500 lb Steel Cable
2500 lb capacity??? Not a chance! I bought this winch to help with a project on which I was working in November of last year. Before it got here I found an alternate plan, so unfortunately, didn't actually use the winch until last week. (6 months later.) BIG mistake! This thing is a bad joke - as is it's 2500 lb rating. A week ago I used it with a couple of snatch blocks to unload a 350 lb piece of equipment from a trailer and it struggled terribly. I did manage to unload the equipment, but it was touch and go. Yesterday I tried to use it to pull a 500 lb motorcycle onto a trailer. It started okay, then slowed to a virtual standstill, and finally stopped. This was pulling a relatively small street bike up a ramp at an angle of about 45 degrees, onto a trailer. Like another disappointed customer whose review I just read (too late), there's no way I'll be able to use this piece of junk to load my larger, nearly 700 lb street bike on the trailer. Maybe it would work with my 220 lb dirt bike? But I wouldn't count on that. (And I can load the dirt bike by myself anyway.) If you're thinking of buying this for it's advertised use as an ATV winch, just DON'T - or you may find yourself stranded in the woods if/when it's needed to pull you out of a bad situation. I am kicking myself for not trying this immediately after I bought it, since it's now obviously past the 30 day return period. Lesson learned... IMPORTANT! - Take a close look at these ratings too. There are at least FOUR DIFFERENT winches reviewed and rated, from 2000lb to 4500lb rated winches - all combined under the same ratings. So the rating system for any single size winch is BS, because the other winches are aggregated in there as well. I can't usefully comment on the other TYT winches, but I can definitively say that the 2500 lb model I bought is junk. Update: The seller saw my review and sent me a replacement winch, which was nice of him. Unfortunately, the replacement was the same model. After using the new one - or at least trying to - I have no doubt that my bad experience with the first winch wasn't simply a fluke. The replacement is every bit as worthless. I honestly believe that this thing would be borderline if rated at only 250 lbs, let alone 2500. Maybe someone at the factory left out a decimal point in the rating? ... show more

  • Extremely powerful for size
Material Type: 2500 lb Steel Cable
I mounted this on a 2021 CFmoto 400 and it really does the trick. I have used this mainly for my snow plow attachment but I have also used this around my property to move trees, Cars, unwanted boulders. The winch really does the job and keep going. I have used this for way for then it should be used but it works like a Charm. I really really like the wireless remote it lets you get away from the vehicle or quad or whatever you have it mounted to and still be able to use the winch. This would actually be a really good addition to a car trailer or boat trailer. Use the wireless remote so that you can load with more ease. The only real down side to this is the installation. If your not familiar with your quad or electronics you should probably have a licensed mechanic or tech install this for you. I really love this addition to my quad and use it regularly. 10/10 would recommend this for anyone looking for a winch 5/10 on ease of installation but that comes with being a mechanic ... show more
