I ordered one of these for my youngest son since his older brother had received one from school. He has enjoyed making different shapes and creatures out of the magnets quite a bit, and uses them as props with his other toys. We have tried using it as a pen and found it to be a bit too uncomfortable and unreliable to use. While using the pen on plain paper, I had some issues with the ink clogging up and not writing smoothly. It is also quite heavy to hold for an extended period and doesn't feel very ergonomic. The nice part is that the inner core of the pen is large enough that it fits within the magnets pretty snugly. So, if you were really determined to use this as a pen, it is sturdy enough to be usable. As a side note, the little clip that is supposed to allow the pen to sit in your pocket or whatever its purpose is, is pretty much useless. If you have the clip seated in there with the magnet cap (like its designed to be), it is too big to allow the cap to stay firmly in place. You can very easily pull it off along with the cap. If it's more of just a cosmetic thing, then it makes sense, but it doesn't work well enough to be useful (unless used as a tail or a sword maybe for one of your creations). Overall, I ranked it as four stars since the magnet aspect of the product is quite fun to play with and seems to be well made. My son is very happy with the product, I'm sure that my kids (and I) will continue to play with it for a long time. Disclaimer: I did not test the touch screen nubs that come with the pen. We're not real big phone/tablet users, so we didn't have a reason to use it as such.

The concept of this is pretty interesting! I like that it can be taken apart and you can make different things with it as the day goes on. Sadly - if you need to write at any point it would be difficult to do so with this one if it’s taken apart and turned into something unless you write with just the pen cartridge. The magnets are very strong!

I picked these out for my husband, and he loves them! He says they feel sturdy but also easy to move around and that the magnets are really strong. He doesn't really have anything negative to say about them. They look sleek and suit the look of his desk well, and are a great distraction from antsy fingers. They're a great value for their price, and the stylus works great with the touch screen. I would love to get more of these in other colors so I can stop stealing his.
