Generally very good.
Total time: 1 football game and 3 beers in the driveway. I was a little skeptical about getting these bars because people seemed to be complaining about hardware issues and misalignment of the bolt hole pattern, but decided to take a risk, All in all I am very happy, and don't think any other brand is going to do much better on fitment or hardware, but wanted to give others enough detail to decide for themselves. (For comparison I was installing these on a 2009 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara.) The Good: These are well packaged, solid and very heavy. As far as I can tel,l the bars have more points of contact (3 points of contact) than many of the name brand competitors (2 points of contact) that charge $100-$200 more for the same type of product. I was able to remove the old factory steps and install the new rails by myself in the driveway in about 3 hours with the assistance of 1 jack stand. The hardest part of the install was actually removing the old hardware. (Even with a generous dose of PB Blaster I had a nut break loose from the bracket that held it inside the frame so I had to cut the bolt with a dremmel carbide blade to get the old step off.) I had none of the hardware alignment issues that others reported (all the holes were in the right place if you got the bar aligned properly), and complaints about difficult instructions seem to have caused Tyger to include instructions that are clear and include lots of pretty pictures. I suspect that some of the people that previously reported bolt hole alignment problems probably didn't start on the right side of the vehicle (the instructions a very clear that you need to start at the rear of the vehicle and move forward), didn't put the bar in the right position when they attempted to fit the bars, or don't know how to loose fit a series of bolts and then progressively tighten to center. Generally, if you start mounting from the rear of the vehicle and move forward (otherwise the bar won't tuck under the body mount when you try to bolt the rear part of the bar. The Bad: (1) The instructions assume that the underside of the jeep is either all open (07-11), or all threaded (11-17). For some reason my jeep had a threaded hole in the rear on each side, but open slots in the front and middle positions. The hardware that was included did not include a bolt of the right size for the threaded hole. I was able to re-use one of the old bolts from the OEM step to attach the new bars, but if your jeep has seen a lot of water/corrosion you may need to buy a couple of new bolts to get the job done. (2) Instead of using clips (like the OEM steps) to hold the bolt in place on the inside of the body, Tyger has decided to use nuts that are welded to a bar. You have to gently slide the bar/nut into the body, and leave it sitting loose inside of the frame. I don't know if this is a cost saving for the manufacturer ($0.25?), but it makes installation a PITA. You have to very gently turn the bolt under the nut and pray that the nut has been centered well enough that it will thread itself. If I had to do it over again, I would consider buying clips & nuts at the local auto shop or hardware store to make the process easier.

Awesome quality and fit but not a huge area to step on
These are absolutely beautiful. Fit, finish and quality are flawless. Instructions were clear and straightforward. All necessary hardware was included. The bars were packed exceptionally well and had no damage whatsoever. Installation was simple. I didn't have a helper, so I sat on the ground and balanced them on my knees while I started the bolts. I did not have any issues with bolts lining up. Based on what I saw with my 2016, I have a hard time believing that the holes wouldn't line up. The key is to not tighten anything all the way until all the bolts are in. Each step has three mounting areas, each with a large bolt going vertically into the frame, and horizontally through the pinch weld with 2 nuts/bolts. If you tighten either the vertical or horizontal bolts too soon, you'll probably run into issues. Tighten everything in steps and you'll have no trouble at all. Although the item title doesn't say it, these are true rock rails in addition to being step bars. The bottom tube is a single continuous piece. They are extremely heavy and sturdy. I replaced my factory Rubicon rails with these on our 2016 Willys. If a step bar that doubles as a rock rail is what you're after, these are a solid bet. The only downside to speak of is in the design itself. As they are intended to serve as rock rails as well as steps, they fall a little short in the step department. To truly be a functional step, I would want them to sit a bit lower and/or farther out. These place the step right below the body, and with only a couple of inches to step on. This is fine for the kids with small feet, but my size 12 shoes don't have a huge contact patch. Also, with as high as they are, they wouldn't be very helpful if the Jeep were lifted. If this style of bar is what you're after, these are 100% awesome. However, if your Jeep is lifted or you're vertically challenged yourself, a different style of step bar may suit you better.

Get it, it is a good product at a great price.
The good is that it looks great on my new 2015 Rubicon. Also it is shorter than the stock Rubicon rails, so I have more clearance for my tires when I put on snow chains. The powder coating is done well, but found two rivets that were its original silver, they must have forgot to paint it or in this case coat it. They are very small rivets and are on the bottom, so not really noticeable, but just wanted to inform everyone of what I found. The star steps for the front doors should be placed a little bit further back. Now for the installation: Installed on 11/07/2015. The holes are not a perfect match or alignment to the existing holes. You will bend the existing frame as you are installing the rails. The side frame will automatically bend as you tighten the 6mm bolts. So this was not easy, but with a little bit of twisting of the wrench, it will work. The problem comes when you have to install the three 8mm bolts that go underneath the car. I was able to get the first two in (front and middle), but the last one in the back would not fit with the provided 8mm bolts. The problem is the opening that the manufacturer made for these holes, it is not a Jeep issue, it is a Tyger manufacturing issue. Unless you have something to grind metal it will be very hard to install the back bolt. I had to grind a little bit and was able to hand tighten with a lot of force. I could not use the provided 8mm bolts, but was able to use the stock Rubicon rail bolts (just for the back). It was a huge struggle to install the back bolts and my heads hurt a lot, but got it done, so it is possible, but does take some effort, so be prepared for it. After install: The car feels heavier and it should as the rails weight about 42 lbs each, so total of 84 lbs. I already had the Rubicon rails (about 20 lbs each), so I added about 22 bs on each side. The car corners better as I have more weight on the sides of the car, but need to step on the gas more to speed up. But I love the side armor with steps as it helps people get in and out of my car. It sticks out more than the stock rails so provides some additional protection, the overall look is great, the prices is very reasonable at 269.00 including tax and shipping. Also I live in Los Angeles, CA and it came by UPS in 3 business days. In conclusion, be ready for some adjustments and you definitely need a helping hand when you install. Get it, it is a good product at a great price.
