With elderly parents living alone, there is always a bit of worry. I got this to use at their home so that they can easily reach me and I them. I really like that calls from the app to the device can auto connect, just in case there is an emergency I could see what is happening. There are two buttons that are shortcuts to call any contacts - so they don't have to fumble with the phone and remembering how to dial. The app was easy to install and setup. If you don't want to subscribe to cloud services, you should get a micro SD card to store the videos and photos. The device picks up movement and immediately starts recording. What's nice is that you can share access to the device with other family members as well. The camera can be set to follow people as they move.
