Description

Press and hold the power button on AirFly Pro for 4 seconds. The light will flash amber and white to indicate it is in pairing mode. Put your headphones into Bluetooth pairing mode, AirFly Pro will detect and connect automatically once it finds your headphones. The light will turn solid white briefly when pairing is successful. Initial pairing can take up to 90 seconds, but AirFly Pro will remember your headphones and reconnect automatically on future uses. No. AirFly Pro remembers previously paired headphones even after being powered off. Just turn it on and it will reconnect automatically. AirFly Pro also supports pairing two sets of headphones simultaneously, so both will reconnect on their own without repeating the pairing process. TX (Transmit) mode sends audio from a wired headphone jack to your Bluetooth headphones. Use this on airplanes, gym treadmills, hotel TVs, or any device with a 3.5mm audio out. RX (Receive) mode works in reverse: AirFly Pro receives Bluetooth audio from your phone or tablet and plays it through a wired speaker or AUX input. Use this with car stereos, boat speakers, or any non-Bluetooth system with an AUX port. Toggle between modes using the TX/RX switch on the side of the device. AirFly Pro has up to 16 hours of battery life on a full charge. When the battery is low, the LED will flash amber 3 times. To recharge, plug the included USB-C to USB-A cable into AirFly Pro and connect it to any powered USB port. AirFly Pro is fully charged within 2 hours. The LED will stay solid amber while charging and turn off when fully charged. AirFly Pro may work with hearing aids that support standard Bluetooth and can enter pairing mode without a smartphone app. However, hearing aids that rely on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or require a companion app to pair are not compatible. Because hearing aid Bluetooth implementations vary widely by brand and model, we recommend checking with your hearing aid manufacturer before purchasing. If you have questions about your specific device, our support team is happy to help. • The Twelve South AirFly Pro is an excellent accessory
Color: White Style: AirFly Pro
**Twelve South AirFly Pro - Wireless Transmitter/Receiver for AirPods & Wireless Headphones** As someone who frequently travels and prefers using wireless headphones, I was intrigued by the Twelve South AirFly Pro. This device promises to bridge the gap between traditional in-flight entertainment systems and modern wireless audio devices, making it an attractive option for frequent flyers like myself. **What I Like:** - **Versatile Functionality**: The AirFly Pro can function as both a transmitter and a receiver, which is a huge plus. As a transmitter, it allows me to connect my AirPods or other Bluetooth headphones to any device with a headphone jack, such as airplane entertainment systems, gym equipment, or even older stereo systems. As a receiver, it turns wired speakers or car stereos into Bluetooth-compatible devices. - **Dual Headphone Support**: One of the standout features is the ability to connect two sets of headphones simultaneously. This is perfect for sharing a movie or music with a travel companion on a flight, ensuring both of us can enjoy wireless audio without any hassle. - **Compact and Portable Design**: The AirFly Pro is small and lightweight, making it easy to carry in a pocket, purse, or carry-on bag. It comes with a handy keychain attachment, so I never have to worry about losing it during my travels. - **Long Battery Life**: The battery life is impressive, offering up to 16 hours of use on a single charge. This is more than enough for even the longest flights, and the device can be recharged quickly using the included USB-C cable. **What I Don’t Like:** - **Initial Pairing Process**: While pairing the AirFly Pro with my headphones was relatively straightforward, it took a couple of attempts to get everything connected properly. Once paired, it worked flawlessly, but the initial setup might require some patience. - **Audio Lag**: There’s a slight audio lag when watching videos, especially on older in-flight entertainment systems. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it can be noticeable if you’re sensitive to audio sync issues. The lag is minimal but worth mentioning for those who prioritize perfect synchronization. - **Price**: The AirFly Pro is on the pricier side for an accessory, but given its versatility and functionality, I find it justifiable. However, if you’re only planning to use it occasionally, you might need to weigh the cost against the frequency of use. **Bottom Line:** The Twelve South AirFly Pro is an excellent accessory for anyone who wants to use their wireless headphones with devices that don’t support Bluetooth, particularly during air travel. Its versatile functionality, ability to connect two headphones simultaneously, and long battery life make it a must-have for frequent flyers. While the initial pairing process might require some patience and there’s a slight audio lag with video, the overall convenience and performance make it a worthwhile investment for those looking to enjoy wireless audio wherever they go. ... show more

  • Used Since 2023 — Still in My Carry-On for Every Flight
Color: White Style: AirFly Pro
I travel frequently and like being able to use my own AirPods or over-the-ear headphones with the seatback screen. I’ve been using the Twelve South AirFly Pro Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter/Receiver on flights since 2023, including longer international trips. Pairing had a small learning curve at first, but after reading the instructions and watching a quick tutorial, it became very straightforward. Occasionally, I’ve needed to reset the device and re-pair it with my headset. I’ve used it with both AirPods and over-the-head headphones. Performance has been reliable. On rare occasions I’ve experienced minor static, dropouts, or audio delay. The battery easily handles typical 3–4 hour flights. On longer international trips (18+ hours of travel time), I sometimes plugged it in during extended travel days. On some international flights, I needed the two-prong adapter. It’s compact, fits easily in a pocket or small handbag, and comes with a charging cable and a small carry pouch. For context, I bought my AirFly in 2023 and it’s still working well. That kind of long-term reliability is why I continue to travel with it. Some newer Delta aircraft now offer direct Bluetooth pairing, so I didn’t need it on those particular flights. However, not every plane or airline does — which is why this still stays in my carry-on. ... show more

  • Works great.
Color: White Style: AirFly Pro
I use this in my car as a receiver. I have a Mercedes that doesn’t support bluetooth music streaming. My car does support bluetooth phone connection. That’s important because if you’re in my situation then when you connect this little dongle you will have two separate bluetooth connections going on. One for your phone directly to your car system for phone calls, and the other to this dongle plugged into your aux port. For me, it all works well. There’s a few quirks that are a tad annoying. It has a pretty good range and when I get home if I don’t manually disconnect from it on my phone, then it continues streaming from inside my house. I don’t know it because the car is off, but consequently my phone won’t make any sound because it’s all being transmitted to my car (and it’s also draining the battery of the dongle). Just make sure to break the connection when you park if you’re going to be in range. If you walk far enough away from it it disconnects automatically and turns itself off. The other thing I don’t like about it is that you have to turn it on every time you get back in your car. Not that big a deal but my aux port is on my glovebox, so every time I get in my car I have to start the car, then open my glovebox and hold the button on the dongle for four seconds then close the glovebox. The sound quality is quite good, I don’t hear any hiss or noise so they must be using a decent DAC. All in all it’s an inexpensive way to stream music from your phone to your car hands free using Siri (I’m using iPhone). ... show more

  • Works great with Airpod Pro 1st Gen
Color: Black Style: AirFly Pro
This is my unbiased review of the Twelve south Airfly Pro (black). The color you choose is somewhat important, more on that below. == SUMMARY == Solid performance, very good audio quality paired with my 1st gen Apple Airpod Pros. Pleased with this product and would buy again. That said, there are a couple of flaws. If I could buy again, I may opt for the white color model. == PROS == Universal compatibility on any airplane or laptop with standard 3.5mm headphone out jack. Battery life is 25 hours, which was more than enough for me to enjoy the four movies on a cross-Pacific international flight using a single charge. Ability to charge via USB while paired with earbuds/Bluetooth headphones. (However, read the cons section.) Solid audio quality when paired with Apple Airpod Pro 1st Gen. I don't have any experience with the latest gen Airpods. Noise cancellation on my airpods were sufficient for me to enjoy my international flight. I don't plan to ever use wired headsets on a plane again. Very lightweight and includes a travel pouch. Uses USB-C as input for charging (very short charging cable included). == CONS == One-time Bluetooth pairing setup took a few attempts to sync properly with my Airpod Pros. I would recommend pairing at home before you travel, rather than on the plane if you can avoid it. It will save you some hassle. USB charging is convenient while being able to listen, but there is a noticeable signal noise that was audible while listening so I had to unplug the USB cable while using. I would recommend fully charging the Airfly Pro before your travel. The signal interference was coming from the USB connection. I tried switching to a non-OEM cable and still had the same issue with signal noise. As for the BLACK model, I have to criticize the poor usability choice of using black type font for labeling the TX and RX modes to switch between transmitting and receiving. Black text on a black background is just a facepalm moment in poor design. As others have also stated, it is very difficult to read the label for the toggle switch. Sure, you could just memorize the position of your desired toggle, but any good product should have clearly visible labels. It's not a deal-breaker if the black model is on sale, but if the price is the same, going for the white model is preferred. Otherwise, white and black models are identical in features and performance. ... show more

  • Compact and easy to use; nice for travel.
Color: White Style: AirFly Pro
This is the second version of this product that I have purchased, and I’m very happy with it. I bought the first one so my hard-of-hearing mother could watch TV using her wireless headphones instead of blasting the volume. It worked so well for her that I decided to buy another one for myself when I fly. It is super-easy to set up and pair, and worked perfectly on my flight a few days ago. ... show more

After using the AirFly Pro on multiple flights, I am thoroughly impressed by its performance, design, and the freedom it offers. Ease of Use The AirFly Pro is remarkably user-friendly, with a simple setup process that involves plugging the device into the headphone jack of an in-flight entertainment system and pairing it with your AirPods Pro 2. The pairing process is swift and intuitive, allowing you to connect up to two devices simultaneously. Design and Build Quality Compact and lightweight, the AirFly Pro is the epitome of travel-friendly design. Its sleek black exterior is unobtrusive and blends well with any tech setup. Despite its small size, the device feels durable and well-made, capable of withstanding the rigors of travel without issue. The inclusion of a small travel pouch is a thoughtful touch, providing a convenient way to store and protect the device when not in use. Performance The true test of any Bluetooth transmitter is its performance, particularly when it comes to maintaining a stable connection and delivering high-quality audio. The AirFly Pro excels in both areas. Throughout my flights, the connection to my AirPods Pro 2 remained flawless, with no noticeable lag or dropout. The audio quality transmitted was clear and crisp, allowing me to become fully immersed in movies and music, thus greatly enhancing my in-flight entertainment experience. Battery Life With a battery life of up to 16 hours, the AirFly Pro easily lasted through long flights, and it can be charged via USB-C, which is convenient and fast. The ability to charge it using the same cable as my laptop and phone simplifies packing and ensures the device is always ready for use. Compatibility One of the most appealing aspects of the AirFly Pro is its wide compatibility. It works not only with AirPods Pro 2 but with any Bluetooth-enabled headphones or earbuds. This versatility makes it an essential accessory not just for travel but for use at home with equipment lacking Bluetooth capability. Conclusion The Twelve South AirFly Pro is an indispensable accessory for anyone looking to use wireless headphones with in-flight entertainment systems or any device with a 3.5mm audio jack. Color: White Style: AirFly Pro
The Twelve South AirFly Pro Bluetooth Wireless Audio Transmitter/Receiver has proven to be a reliable and versatile companion, enabling me to enjoy wireless audio wherever I go. This nifty gadget effortlessly bridges the gap between my AirPods and devices with a 3.5mm audio jack, earning it a solid four-star rating. The standout feature of the AirFly Pro is its seamless connectivity. Pairing my AirPods or wireless headphones with various devices like airplanes, gym equipment, TVs, iPads, and more has become a breeze. This has enhanced my audio experience during travel, workouts, and entertainment, allowing me to enjoy my favorite tunes or shows without being tied down by pesky cords. The dual functionality as both a transmitter and receiver is a significant advantage. Whether I need to transmit audio from my TV to my AirPods for late-night viewing or receive audio from gym equipment, the AirFly Pro has got me covered on both fronts. The versatility of this device makes it a valuable addition to my tech arsenal. The battery life of the AirFly Pro is commendable. With up to 16 hours of playback time on a single charge, it can keep up with my on-the-go lifestyle. Additionally, the USB-C charging port ensures quick and efficient charging, making it ready for use whenever I need it. The compact and lightweight design makes it easy to carry around in my bag or pocket. Its unobtrusive size and simple operation allow for hassle-free setup and use. The included travel pouch adds an extra layer of protection, ensuring it stays safe and secure during travel. One aspect that could be improved is the audio latency when used as a transmitter. While it generally performs well, there is a slight delay in audio transmission, which might be noticeable during fast-paced videos or gaming. However, this is a common issue with wireless audio transmitters, and it does not detract significantly from its overall performance. In conclusion, the Twelve South AirFly Pro Bluetooth Wireless Audio Transmitter/Receiver is a reliable and versatile solution for wireless audio connectivity. Its ease of use, long battery life, and dual functionality make it a valuable tool for enjoying audio on the go. Despite a minor audio latency issue, the AirFly Pro delivers on its promises, providing a seamless and cord-free audio experience.
