I like them! I bought them because I bike a few times a week and I wanted a way to have my music follow me as I move from downstairs after riding to upstairs to get cleaned up. I have a Marantz receiver that has HEOS andI wanted to be able to connect the speakers and the receiver to stream everywhere in the house. It works flawlessly for this purpose. I simply use the HEOS app in my phone and I’m able to go from one streaming service to another, the music saved on my phone or a music server in the house. I have purchased the 150, 250 and 350 and they all sound great. I wanted a speaker that could make my house sound like I was in a club and they do the job. What I was surprised by is that when I just want some nice background music (jazz or classical) they deliver excellent sound as well. They fill the area. They can be subtle and warm or loud and forceful without distortion. Setup was straightforward and connection to my WiFi was pretty easy. Sound quality is excellent in my opinion. I started with the 150s and wished for a bit more bass. The 250s IMHO are a really nice balance with plenty of bass. I do not find them muddy like some reviewers stated. Some reviews complained about them having too much bass and I agree that the 350s are bass heavy. This, however, can be adjusted in the EQ, and frankly, I appreciate the bass in so small a speaker. I hid a 350 in a corner and it completely fills the area with music and its placement is hard to detect. The software has been solid in my experience. You can connect different speakers together and rearrange the combinations by dragging and dropping speakers together. It works. I’m still playing around with this aspect of the speaker/software functionality. I am hoping to find that I can setup different combinations (using the same speakers-reusing different speakers in different groupings), save them, and picking from a saved list which combination I want to use in that moment. However, I am not sure that this is possible. Overall, I think they are great sounding, attractive, versatile speakers. They are expensive! But thus far, I’m really happy with them. ... show more

I bought three of these speakers and installed them in different rooms because they can connect to Ethernet cables. I have an Imac and can play each of my Itune playlists via the Ethernet cables. The speakers were easy to install for someone, like myself, who is not very up to date with the latest technical innovations. The sound coming from these small speakers is excellent. However, music afictionados cannot expect the sound of a $200 speaker to match that of one costing $500 or more. The bass was too prevalent for my taste. However, i was able to adjust the sound a little by tweaking the treble and the bass via the equalizer (EQ) function on my Iphone Denon app. Another plus is that the sound level of each speaker can be set up at a different level for each room. ... show more

I've been using three of these speakers in an L-shaped room and the sound is great. Set up was easy but the app doesn't integrate as well with Android OS (as compared to Apple iOS) so be aware that there are some steps to do that are not well described in the documentation.

If only you could give it zero stars, it’s impossible to gain Wi-Fi or Bluetooth access when it does connect Bluetooth it still doesn’t play any music. The app that comes with it is also in op.     • Great Sound but at What Cost

I have had this 250 now for about two months and have had some time to finally adjust however there are just several nuances that drive me nuts. Let's start with the good, sound, is amazing. The HEOS app allows me to EQ it to my taste and overall does a good job. I used this in my office for a few days just to get it going and overall I was impressed in a 12x12 room. I purchased this to use my home gym which is a little larger size room and as equally filling sound and can get loud with no distortion. Now the bad.... When I walk into the room, my phone seems to know this speaker is nearby and allows me to Airplay to it. The problem is the initial connection. 90% of the time it connects starts to play yet I get no sound. About 10 - 20 sec of me realizing it's a lost cause, the speaker looks like it reboots and blinks feverishly pinks blues and who knows what else. I can then select the speaker from the list of all speakers and I am off to the races but it's a min or two every time and just just nuts. I have never had such an issue with the half dozen HomePods in the house, the Marantz gear, etc this thing is a pretty consistent failure here. Issue 2, the volume does not always work in the Apple Music app. I turn it up and does nothing, sometime it incrementally increases sometime it lowers the volume. I find myself having to tinker with it as part of the reconnection which adds yet more delays. I found that if I used the HEOS app success is pretty good but I don't want to use it nor should I have to. Issue 3 and this is pretty minor but annoying. I at one point gave up on Airplay and just went back to Bluetooth which I used with my older speaker. All is good from connectivity albeit a little slow now this is important. I for some reason use display the lyrics when on the treadmill or trainer. The speakers output is about 3 - 5 seconds behind everything so the lyrics never match. I don't get why every other speaker I have owned in the last like 12 years have never had such an issue yet this does. The HEOS app is a love it or hate it thing, perhaps the moist polarizing thing about any Sound United offering. I don't mind it and use it with my ND8006 but that is a different use case. With that said, it's executive overkill for just Airplay or Bluetooth transmission and it appears at least one of my issues is somewhat addressed if I use it. I am fairly neutral on this. So, the sound it pretty good for the speaker and for this I am valuing the sound quality over some of these annoying things. With that said, it's obnoxiously expensive for what it is and completely unacceptable for these issues to be seen, it's unacceptable even at a $100 price point. Perhaps these issues are just with my speaker however I did a ton of research on a new speaker before buying and software and other quirks seem to be commonplace. Why did I buy this over any other, well I tried a few others and this and the sound signature was what hooked me. I'd still be using my old Creative D200 but the bluetooth button broke after 10 years of use. Sound quality though is 30x better. ... show more
