The Era 100 is exactly why I keep coming back to Sonos. At this point I have 20+ Sonos products throughout my home, and every time they release something new, I wonder if it’ll actually move the needle. This one absolutely does. The sound quality is a noticeable step up from previous models in this size. The stereo separation is wider, the bass is fuller without being muddy, and vocals come through incredibly clean. It easily fills a room, and pairing two of them takes things to another level. Setup, as always with Sonos, is seamless. It integrated into my existing system in minutes, and Trueplay tuning helped dial everything in perfectly for the space. I also appreciate the updated controls- more intuitive and responsive than older models. If you're looking to add wireless speakers, etc. to your TV or other entertainment devices, Sonos is the way to go. Sonos is quite expensive, but you're buying not only high-quality audio devices but also the flexibility of being wireless for sound and the interconnectedness of all the Sonos devices. The Sonos app recognizes all of your various devices and makes it easy for them to work together. You can assign devices to specific rooms or, if you want, set up a home audio network where music is played everywhere. The Sonos app also integrates access to Apple Music, Amazon Music, or just the Sonos music that they offer. For a home theater, starting with a Sonos soundbar opens the door for adding other Sonos speakers and a Sonos subwoofer. The sound bar, while using the Sonos application on your smartphone, will recognize other speakers and a subwoofer in the room. You also can configure the speakers to work separately, or they can be part of a surround sound system tied to the Sonos sound bar. The nice thing about each of the system audio components is that individually, you can touch the component (a speaker or soundbar for example) and control the room sound level, so you don't always have to go to the Sonos app on your smartphone to do so. You can get great sound for your entertainment system without requiring a receiver and complicated wiring. Sonos has been making some very good Bluetooth speakers and the audio quality of their products is excellent for Bluetooth. The Era 100 integrates seamlessly with my Roam speakers to give me a nice full sound in the house, and I have greatly enjoyed it! I have been a Bose snob for decades but except for the Sonos software hiccup a little while back, the Sonos speakers and software have always been great! The fact that their speakers support AirPlay and Bluetooth pretty seamlessly, and are capable of grouping with a couple of clicks is a huge adavatage over the Bose software, especially when connecting Bluetooth speakers. The Era 100 sounds great, is nice to look at and can be semi-portable. Definitely worth the $$ for the sound quality. ... show more

Ok, here i am to give my honest review of my Sonos Era 100. I have good and bad points to make with this, but i knew it was not perfect before i purchased it. I bought this anyway for the sound quality and not really the extra voice features since i already have the Alexa i use. Just do not expect this to operate like the Alexa because it does not. At least not for me. And what i do not like about the Sonos is that for the voice you have to say, "HEY SONOS." and you cannot just say Sonos, you have to use both words. Alexa i can use just one wake word to use it and even change it, with the Sonos you cannot. Even though i got the Alexa app to work with the Sonos which i wanted to try anyway, it was a major disappointment, you hear the Alexa voice, but it would not operate any of my lights with Sonos. Not a major issue anyway since i already have it working with 2 Alexa units already. But if you are buying this for the Alexa feature, its a disappointment. Now for the sound. I heard so many good reviews about the audio quality so i had to give this a shot. The speaker was actually smaller than expected, but do not let that fool you. The sound was excellent quality and the music sounds very separated with the vocal and music which sounds great, and much louder too. I am using the Sonos speaker for my computer and basically music. I am now going to give you another honest review when comparing this to the Newer Echo devices. Buy the echo devices if you are wanting it for the home lights and tv use, but do not expect the audio quality like the Sonos has. Both the Echo and Sonos have good points, this is why i have both. Alexa for my lights and news and weather, however, if its audio you are looking for, i would spend the extra money for the Sonos and skip the Echo devices. Plus i do like the small size that does make it easy for Sonos to be placed just about anywhere. The bottom line with my review, if you want audio quality, then Sonos is for you. If you want to voice activate lights then the Echo's are better. But i have no regrets at all about buying this Sonos speaker. ... show more
