  • Seller Delievered
Model: Orange Reflective
Based on the Seller of this product: 5 out of 5 stars As described, came quickly, and the replacement strap is perfect fit and super vibrant. I got a bright/safety orange with the reflective strip on it. Feels the same quality as the factory strap, which is to say, high. NOW, as for the device 4/5 I didn't realize how MASSIVE It is. I don't have a small dog, and this device is 100% OVERKILL. Trapper, the dog who got this receiver and the orange strap, is a 4 year old Foxhound Catahoula mix. SO, not the biggest of dogs and just BARELY qualifies as "LARGE" in both height (22in to the shoulder) and weight (70lbs), and this thing is huge. Took no time to pair it up with the Alpha 200i. As for my very limited use of it, since I was trying to get him to do his usual running away thing. He likes to wander the neighborhood, but this collar confused and spooked him a bit as someone who uses E-Collars to train my pups, seeing one that is literally 3x as large confused him, so he stayed by my side and didn't wander off. THOUGH it did report he treed something, which kind of tells you what breed this is really made for, coonhounds. It's a neat device, hard to use, but it's nice that with the 200i receiver you can basically get the receiver on your phone with the Garmin app. Back to the collar physically: While trying to swap out the straps, I did it completely the wrong way and over complicated a very simple process, I got to see the waterproofing nature of the device and, HMM, this is kind of where it loses that "Star". GPS portion of it, GREAT. Take that thing apart, not only is there a gasket, the reciever is completely encased in resin/silicone/something, nothing is getting in there. As for the main body of the device, hmm... the "Gasket" doesn't impress me. THOUGH, getting to the battery is SUPER easy, it's in a "cage" with 3 screws, and has its own connector on the board. Meaning, easily replaceable. Turns out the straps are easier to swap out and the only unscrewing needed to be done is with the GPS unit, and even then you don't have to completely remove the screws, you can loosen them up until the tension is gone on the straps, that way you're not losing any screws. The hardest part, given the rubbery nature of the straps was navigating around the receiver body, it tends to grip and grab. Conclusion: Amazing seller, nice and quick. Great replacement strap in quality. Over all good product, expensive, but given that this has a crazy 9 mile radius, hard to find a competitor in this market. I bought it, since I recently bought an RV and Trapper (Foxhound/Catahoula) is way more hound than my childhood dog which was 100% hound. Once he catches a scent, he's off on its trail. So, if I'm going to go RVing with him and Zelda (Black Lab Protection breeds mix), thought it wouldn't hurt to have the range. Though, Zelda being 1 years old and 5 months with me after being dropped off at the county shelter, is still a clinger. Also while Whistle, Fii, and whatnot are good, this provides a closed network 9mi radius REAL TIME tracking, or 2.5 seconds updates (on eco mode) without the need for a network. Also this has the backwoods mapped out for most of the US, where a lot of those dog ran off into the urbanized area trackers don't. They tend to piggy back off of Google maps. I also liked the training collar aspect. THOUGH no vibration feature, there's a beep feature (though I don't think you can use it in a training sense), or shock. No in between. If you're a hunter with a hunting dog, or a hiker, then YEAH, the price is definitely worth it. It's your dog... ... show more

  • Works the way expected it to
Model: Orange Reflective
My husband purchased this collar for our 1 year old puppy to hunt with. We recently moved to a new property with lots of land so I now also use it anytime I take our puppy for a walk in the woods. At first I thought the collar was big and heavy for her and that the antenna would bother her. None of that is true, she goes about her runs and discoveries without even realizing she has the collar on. It works well to track her and can see how far she has walked. I like that it has tone not just the shock feature because our dog has learned with just the tone. I take the collar on and off a lot through loot the day and it doesn’t show much wear. ... show more
