I'm an old lady now. Back in my day, we had to iron everything. They didn't have permanent press fabrics back then. Plus, people dressed a lot more formally than they do now. I have to say, I don't miss those days in the least! However, there ARE some articles of clothing that need to be de-wrinkled. Steaming is much easier than ironing. I had a small steamer that I've used on and off, but when I saw this commercial grade one with its high reviews, I decided to go for. Oh my word! If I weren't already married, I might have wed myself to this steamer! It is AMAZING! In a very short time it heats up and does the job. I spend a mere minute or two getting the entire garment looking sharp, as opposed to the hours I used to have to spend ironing. Plus, though it is not portable per se, I keep it in our large primary closet and just pull it out whenever I need it. No need to hassle with an ironing board and all that. Wish I'd had this 40 years ago! Glad I have it now, though!

We are ironing multiple times a day in our house and go through an iron every 1-2 years. We have a small handheld steamer that my wife likes to use on sensitive fabrics or ones that just don't lend well to ironing and it works alright but I've never been impressed with the handheld. I got this steamer to see if a full sized dedicated steamer would be better and WOW this thing is amazing. You can literally watch the fabric relax as steam is applied. Wrinkles just disappear before your eyes. I honestly think we may switch to using this primarily over an iron. Steaming a pair of pants takes about the same amount of time as ironing. It takes up less floor space than an ironing board. Super easy to operate. The steamer heats up in about the same time it takes to warm up an iron. The garment hanger works well for shirts, dresses, and jackets. Things get a little cramped if the garment has a collar but it's doable. The one thing I am not a fan of is the pants hanger. It's a little difficult to get on and off of the hanger and it has to be removed to collapse the hange to put a shirt on. It kind of feels like an afterthought on an otherwise thoughtful design. The second gripe is the tank fill is on the bottom so you have to remove the tank to fill it. It would be nice to be able to top off the tank from above using a cup of water. It's labeled as a commercial steamer but I would call it more like "prosumer". A true commercial steamer would have bigger tank and less plastic components. Overall highly recommend for home use.

I have owned full-size steamers for decades, which are superior to ironing. I have wanted a commercial garment steamer for quite some time. They offer more options and convenience for dispersing steam (via on/off control) and are more durable for frequent use and operation. The True & Tidy brand is one I have not previously heard of, but it fits my requirements, so I was quick to order it. Upon arrival, I found everything included, and after steaming various articles of clothing made of different materials and fabrics (from light to heavier jeans), I found it to be more than satisfactory in its efficiency. Unfortunately, I was utilizing an iron as the hanger on my other steamer broke, and I needed its superiority, quickness, usefulness, and resourcefulness. This steamer is excellent, beautiful, and exceptionally well-made, and it does a fantastic job of removing wrinkles and freshening clothes (a huge selling point to me). It is also lighter and more portable than expected in terms of durability (which is genuinely heavy-duty). I am pleased to have it. The price is more than right. As someone who has owned a handful of standing garment steamers in my lifetime, if I had to pay more, it would be for an industrial model, which fits the bill. It is easily a five-star product.

The True & Tidy steamer achieves its main function of providing ample steam to quickly remove wrinkles from clothing. The front includes a small dial to choose between three levels of steam. Even the first level provides enough for most purposes, level two produces almost twice as much steam. I haven't felt the need yet to push it to the highest level. The power button is also on the front. It is extra large and peddle shaped to make pushing it with your foot easy (which is the best way to turn it on and off). The built quality is adequate for home use, though some parts are not sturdy enough for commercial applications. The steam hose, power cord and telescoping clothing pole are all made from quality materials. However, the water tank is thin plastic, as are the hanger and steam selection knob. If not abused, they should survive periodic use for a long time, but definitely not overbuilt for daily use. Also, the heating element is not readily accessible for cleaning. I am using distilled water, but it will eventually accumulate hard water deposits that will need to be removed (not too difficult by simply soaking it in vinegar if it is accessible). Having always used an iron for removing wrinkles, the steamer is much easier. The steam head is less hot and there is no need to try and position the clothing perfectly for each pass. Setup is also faster, just use the built in hanger or the hanger holder and start steaming.

is a bit on the high side. The hanging pole should be stronger at this price point. The hose could also be a little longer for those of us who need a better reach. That said, this thing pushes out steam, is light weight, and has a huge reservoir. I've had a few good steamers, but no matter what they always stopped the steam too early due to the small reservoirs. this here is not a worry with this one.
