Years ago I asked my mother, a wonderful 'sewist' and her mother (my grandmother) was a seamstress-turned-tailor, what kind of clothing iron I should get. She said Rowenta. I'd never heard of it but spent the money and will never buy another brand of iron again. A quarter century later, my older Rowenta is still working but I wanted an upgrade, so I bought this during a Prime sale. What a wonderful new iron! Very easy to use: just add water to the tank, turn the dial, and iron. The heat levels are more precise, and the features are about the same as my previous Rowenta. What I really love about this new iron is the taper-pointed tip - it gets into those smaller folds and spaces where regular irons tend to stay on top of and eliminates wrinkles more efficiently. When I opened the box I was surprised at the larger size but it actually weighs LESS than my former iron. Easy on my wrists and my arm doesn't get fatigued when ironing while sewing clothing (which takes a LOT of ironing). My photograph is of the first shirt I ironed - it took only a little over a minute to iron the entire shirt, collar and all. Great value for the money, especially when Prime season comes. Honestly, it’s frustrating to see a product that could have so much potential fall short in so many areas. First off, the integrated unit design is supposed to streamline the experience, but all it does is limit versatility. I didn't realize it was all one awkward wonky piece that was downright hideous and impossible to use. Why can’t there be a temperature control option? It’s ridiculous that users must settle for a basic on/off button when customization is necessary. And don’t even get me started on the complete lack of user instructions! It's infuriating to have to figure things out on your own, especially when a little guidance could make a world of difference. Initial setup shouldn’t feel like navigating a maze—good customer support and clear instructions should be a given! Let’s be real: the high price tag is absolutely unjustifiable when the product lacks basic features that would actually enhance its functionality. It’s as though they expect consumers to pay a premium for something that isn’t even close to being worth it. If the company doesn’t step up its game and address these glaring issues, I can’t imagine many people will want to invest in this product. It needs serious improvement! Also, I cannot find any customer service information needed to extend the return date. My mother has been very ill and hospitalized, which has caused me to miss the incredibly short 30-day return window. If I had purchased this elsewhere, I would have gotten at least 90 days. This has been my favorite brand of irons for years. They glide easily are easy to use.They don't drip water and as long as you put it on the right temperature it will not damage your clothing. It's a great weight not too heavy but heavy enough to get the job done. It glides effortlessly. As someone with tendonitis I have no problems using it. I bought this to replace an 8-year-old Rowenta iron which had stopped getting hot. I iron a lot, but do not use the steam feature. Instead, I use a spray bottle. I love the automatic shut off mechanism, I case I forget to unplug. I utilized a $10 coupon which was a nice bonus.
