I bought this to help minimize smell issues since I have the cat's litter box in a litter box enclosure that doesn't have anything to stop any odors from seeping out. I am in a student apartment with minimal space so the litter box/enclosure has to go in my closet/small space. I was able to secure it to the enclosure using Velcro strips and I cut the partitions a little bit wider and extended the cut upwards a bit to make it easier for my cat to get in and out. We purchased this pet door to use on our screen porch. It definitely served the purpose however our dogs are large and they run full speed through the doggie door. Because of this the middle flap did not hold up and broke within a few weeks. That being said it is well made and would work for smaller or more docile dogs. It was okay in the first month but the thing with this is the cut that makes it fragile. Mine got torn in half and had to duct tape it. Ended up throwing it out. I’m sorry but it’s a Waste of money.
