Easy to cut. Holds up in the cold. Holds up in the heat. Keeps the rain out. It does have a strong smell when you first open it but it goes away. I have 2 medium sized dogs that run in and out all day. It's been scratched at, ran through, weathered and is in just as good of shape as when I put it up. Bought a roll. Used it to replace a dog door on a screen door. (Made my own as a cheap fix) I had an igloo door up first. With the weather and heavy use it got hard, dingy, and cracked at the closer screws and broke off. This material has hold up great throughout all the weather and use. Still clear as new, soft and lays flat. Plenty of extra if it ever needs to be replaced.

I didn’t think my dog would use this because of his unease with barriers, but all I did was crawl in without him seeing the plastic by having myself in the door way, he followed me, and then when it dropped he was alarmed when he first noticed it, but he stayed and I pet him, then I crawled out, he followed me out, and then he went in and out on his own with ease and zero concern or hesitation

Dog Door Replacement, Plastic Vinyl Strip. We needed this to replace a pet door flap. The vinyl stinks, literally. It smells terrible and it does not wash off. It needs to air out and off gas. It comes rolled up (which makes sense for shipping), but because of that the ends curls up. I attempted to uncurl with a hair dryer, hot water, and boiling water and all of those failed in different ways. Best way to uncurl = cut the piece you need and let it lay flat for a week. The vinyl is heavy duty and clear. Easy to cut with good scissors. Because of our needs we were having to rig this up in non-standard ways. So for anyone curious, tape (duct tape, gaffers tape, shipping tape, etc), will not stick to the vinyl. It will stick for a day or three then start sliding around leaving a goopy sticky residue behind.

The product is well made, thick, undamaged but it really smells. If it wasn't for the odor we probably would have given it at least 4 stars. We left it outside, washed it numerous times and still the odor persists. We won't be using it for the original purpose but may find something for outside down the road.
