I used it for 2 large tortoise homes during this winter to keep the heat from leaving the enclosure but the smell is really strong.. specially after running headlamps inside the enclosure. The pup chews everything and for some reason does not chew this!??? We used this instead of the new doggie door thinking she would chew it up but she hasn’t-maybe dislikes the taste? It was large enough for a medium doggie door to have 2 doors. If needing another flap-it would work but not make the doggie door seal tight. ... show more

We got this a week ago and put it on the outside dog house. It stunk but it was going to be outside so thought it should off gas within a day or so. The past few days when I looked out the window at our dog she's inside her house (with her heating pad), but she has her nose poking out this door. I thought it was cute but last night I went to adjust her heating pad and now know why she has her nose outside. This plastic door material still stinks. A whole week outside and it still stinks. We're keeping it of course since we cut it and nailed it to the dog house but hopefully it stops stinking soon. ... show more

    • My kitten loves being able to see through the door

I used this to replace existing, opaque flaps on our pet door to the outside. We had gotten a new kitten, and after trying for months to get her to use the pet door, I purchased and installed this replacement flap. That did the trick, now she goes in and out with ease. What a relief! I'm not sure if it's the fact that she can see what's on the other side of the flaps, or if it's because these flaps don't have the magnet at the bottom, but she is now willing to push the flap to go through. I may add some magnets at some point to see if she'll still use it, and so the flaps will do a better job of closing. But all in all this solved a very big problem for us. ... show more
